From Special Reports

The Coweta Community Foundation says it is grateful for all the donations that have been given to its Tornado Relief and Recovery Fund since the March 26 tornado, and they note that local individuals and organizations are continuing to show their generosity by contributing to the ongoing recovery effort.

Newnan artist David Boyd and other local artists joined forces for the Newnan Tornado Relief Art Auction, which brought in $31,851.99 for the Long Term Recovery Operations Fund. Boyd noted that Newnan artist Millie Gosch was instrumental in getting artists on board for the fundraiser, which was supported by local art groups including the Society of Seven, the Easter League of Professional Artists, and Plein Air Painters of the Southeast and Friends.

The Foundation continues to accept donations to the county’s official disaster relief fund. Those wishing to contribute may go to the Foundation’s website, cowetafoundation.org, and click on the “Donate” tab at the top.
