Newnan Shakespeare in the Park is returning this October to the Greenville Street Park to present a production of Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing.

The family-friendly performances will be Saturday, October 12 at 7 p.m. All performances will be free to the public. Audiences are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, food and drink to enjoy under the stars.

Newnan Shakes is a company of local and guest actors, directors and technical artists who are passionate about bringing professional, quality theater to the West Georgia region. Newnan Shakes is a locally formed, nonprofit that debuted their inaugural performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream summer of 2018 followed by Romeo and Juliet in 2019, and Twelfth Night in 2022.

“I am so grateful to the City and the Commission for their continued support in bringing this unique theatrical experience to downtown Newnan,” says Madeline Sain, co-founder of Newnan Shakespeare in the Park. “In my opinion, it is the absolute funniest of Shakespeare’s comedies, and I think the audience is going to really enjoy it.”

Newnan Shakespeare in the Park is being produced in partnership with their presenting sponsor the Newnan Cultural Arts Commission. They are also sponsored by City of Hope, Crain Oil Company, and Harbuck Land Surveyors.
