From Coweta County School System Press Release

All Coweta County Schools and offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 22, due to accumulations of snow and ice and hazardous travel conditions in Coweta County and across the surrounding region.

The resulting winter weather that entered Coweta at approximately 2:30 p.m. has resulted in hazardous and slick conditions on roadways and on school campuses across the county.  These conditions are expected to persist through Wednesday morning given subfreezing temperatures continuing throughout the night and tomorrow.

All extra-curricular activities scheduled for Wednesday, January 22, are also cancelled.

The school system will work with local authorities to monitor conditions tomorrow and will make a determination at that time regarding school operations on Thursday.

Out of an abundance of caution, and efforts to keep their students, faculty and staff safe during dangerous travel conditions in four of the seven counties we serve, all West Georgia Technical College campuses will be closed, and classes will be held virtually on Wednesday, Jan. 22.

The Heritage School will also be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 22. West Georgia Technical College will also be closed on Wednesday.
