From Special Reports

The Coweta County Sheriff’s Office is bringing back Coweta’s Most Wanted to raise funds for “Camp 145.”

Camp 145 is named in honor of Investigator Eric Minix (badge number 145), who was tragically killed in the line of duty on January 4th, 2024.

Camp 145, a two-part adventure, will be a thrilling and educational experience for your children.

The first week of camp in June of 2026 will be dedicated to 8- and 9-year-olds, followed by a week for 10-year-olds. Each camp will be packed with engaging activities and events, ensuring a summer they will remember. The kids will learn about various aspects of law enforcement and visit Coweta County Fire Station 1 to meet firefighters and see the trucks and tools they use to save lives. They will also tour Coweta County E-911 and learn when and why to call 911 in an emergency.

To help fund this initiative, the sheriff’s office will debut “Coweta’s Most Wanted.” Coweta’s Most Wanted includes Dan Judy, Doug Patterson, Jason Kanner, John Winters, and Stan Brown.

As you read this, wanted posters are hitting fax machines and office walls across the county, as the names and faces of Coweta’s top 5 wanted individuals are being spread far and wide.

“Wanted!” declares the signage. “Beware: Armed with kindness… highly infectious.”

These people aren’t criminals, but rather local business leaders and individuals who have agreed to be part of a unique fundraiser to benefit the Coweta Community Foundation’s Coweta Co. Sheriff’s Office Fund (CCSOF).

On November 7, volunteers will act as armed officers and “arrest” these people at local businesses in downtown Newnan between 10 a.m. and noon.

Use this QR Code to help “bail out” Coweta’s Most Wanted.

Once at the jail, they will be “arraigned” and have their mugshots taken. Each person must raise $2,500 in “bail,” with all proceeds directly benefiting the Coweta Community Foundation’s Coweta Co. Sheriff’s Office Fund, which helps fund Camp 145.
