KNB’s Textile Recycling set for May 2

Keep Newnan Beautiful is set to host a dual recycling event on Saturday, May 2.

The event will feature KNB’s Textile Recycling and Paper Shredding. Both will take place from 8 a.m. to Noon in the parking lot behind Newnan’s City Hall at 25 LaGrange Street.

The Paper Shredding portion … first three bags or boxes are FREE for Coweta County residents. After that, it’s $3 per bag or box.

There are no fees or limits to the Textile Recycling segment.

Below is the list of acceptable clothing, household and entertainment items as well as items that cannot be accepted.

CLOTHING ITEMS ACCEPTED

• If you wear it, we want it!

• Men’s, women’s and children’s clothing.

• Men’s, women’s and children’s shoe

• Lingerie, underwear and socks

• Accessories such as hats, gloves, scarves, ties, purses, wallets, backpacks, belts.

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS ACCEPTED

• Bed sheets, blankets, pillows, curtains, tablecloths and similar items

• Bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, bath rugs, etc.

• Kitchenware such as pots, pans, utensils, china, vases, dishes, cutlery, glassware

• Miscellaneous: jewelry, crafts, mugs, candle holders, baskets, ornaments, etc.

ENTERTAINMENT ITEMS ACCEPTED

• Hardback and paperback books

• Records, tapes, videos, DVDs, Blu-Rays

• Video games and consoles, toys, games and puzzles.

ITEMS NOT ACCEPTED

Mattresses/box springs, large rugs, used children’s car seats, used Pack ‘N Play Cribs, appliances, PCs, computers, printers, pianos, box TVs, construction materials, firearms, stun guns and firearm accessories, anything wet, mildewed or otherwise compromised in a way deemed as trash.
