Newnan Carnegie to celebrate 15th Anniversary of Grand Reopening

The Carnegie Library and the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation will celebrate the 15th Anniversary of its Grand Reopening on Thursday, October 24.

The public is invited to this free event which begins at 6 p.m. at Greenville Street Park. Community members will have a chance to create personalized paper bag lanterns at the park. Then, everyone can join in for a lantern walk to the Carnegie, located at 1 LaGrange Street, as dusk falls.

“We are so excited to celebrate this special anniversary,” says Carnegie Director Susan Crutchfield. “The Carnegie is such a special asset to the community and we want to enjoy a wonderful evening together!”

At the Carnegie, a reception featuring refreshments and a video talking about the story behind the renovations and grand
reopening will be available. Mayor Keith Brady and a member of the Newnan Carnegie Library Foundation will speak. The Carnegie plans to share results from their community assessment as well.
