Seasons of Strength Announces Two-Night Commemorative Performance Honoring Newnan’s Recovery After 2021 Tornado

Seasons of Strength Newnan is offering Seasons of Strength: The Performance, a two-night commemorative arts event reflecting a defining chapter in Georgia’s recent history and the community response following the March 26, 2021 EF-4 tornado in Newnan. The performances will take place March 21 and 22, 2026, at Unity Baptist Church in Newnan.
Seasons of Strength: The Performance is a live production centered on the voices of more than 100 survivors, first responders, and volunteers. Through original narrative, dancers, and live music performed by musicians of the LaGrange Symphony Orchestra, the performance transforms lived experience into a shared public moment shaped through the arts. 
“At its heart, this project is about the power of community,” said Gwendolyn Kuhlmann, Creator and Director of Seasons of Strength Newnan. “After the tornado, Newnan and Coweta County experienced tremendous loss, but we also witnessed neighbors showing up for one another in deeply human ways. This performance holds those experiences with care and gives voice to a phenomenal story of community and resilience in the face of staggering odds. Seasons of Strength reminds us what we’re all capable of when we put each other first.”
Built as an arts organization from the ground up, Seasons of Strength centers listening, dignity, and intention in how stories are gathered and shared. The performance is not designed as spectacle, but as civic memory, allowing community members to see their experiences acknowledged through music, movement, and spoken word.
Seasons of Strength: The Performance is made possible through collaboration across the community, including partnerships with local businesses and supporters helping bring this two-night event to life.
