From Special Reports

Here are the 5 W’s with RACE for the Orphans Director Kelly Preston.

WHO

Runners and walkers of all ages are welcome to participate!

RACE for the Orphans was started by the Preston family in 2013 when they were adopting their daughter from China.  They created RACE in order to support other families going through the adoption process (domestic and international) because it can be very expensive ($30-50,000). The Prestons have an active Board of Directors and a host of amazing volunteers that support the organization.  In addition, a plethora of donors and corporate sponsors have stepped up to the plate with their generosity, including the 2024 Presenting Sponsors White Oak Pediatric Dentistry and CrossFit Coweta.

WHY

Every child deserves a loving, forever family.  The mission of RACE for the Orphans is Raising Awareness, Compassion, and Education about the needs of 150+ million orphans around the world.  This annual event raises money for families in the state of Georgia that are adopting children from the U.S. and internationally.  Because the financial burden can be so heavy for families who are trying to adopt, RACE helps alleviate some of that burden for families that are opening their hearts and homes to children in need. Since its inception in 2013, RACE for the Orphans has given more than $467,000 in grant funds to adopting families. For more information, visit www.racefortheorphans.org.
