Below are some of the events in-and-around Coweta County this Labor Day weekend (Friday-Sunday, August 29-31 and Monday, September 1 – Labor Day).

FRIDAY, AUGUST 29

IN-PERSON MEGA PASS SALES
8 am, 2025 Kiwanis Coweta County Fair, Four Locations
In-person Mega Pass Sales for the 2025 Kiwanis Coweta County Fair is underway at four locations in Newnan. The Mega Pass gives Fair Attendees an unlimited ride armband to be used once any day during the fair from Sept. 18-28, 2025. You’ll receive both admission to the fair and the unlimited ride armband for only $30 – a savings of $15 on Fridays and Saturdays and $10 Sundays to Thursdays. Mega Passes must be purchased prior to the start of the fair. The locations are:
• Arnall Grocery Company – 32 East Washington Street, Newnan
• Coweta County Extension/4-H – 255 Pine Road, Newnan
• Keith Ross Insurance Agency – 41 Farmer Street #103, Newnan
• Summit Family YMCA – 1765 Highway 34 East, Newnan

EARLY PACKET PICKUP FOR SUNRISE ON THE SQUARE 5K RACE
10 am-6 pm, Dragonfly Running Company, 10 LaGrange Street, Newnan • 470-414-1430
Runners may pick up their race day packets in advance for the Sunrise on the Square 5K Race on Friday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at Dragonfly Running Company in downtown Newnan. Runners may also pick up their race day packets before the event begins from 6:30-7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

LABOR DAY SIDEWALK SALE
10 am – 5 pm, Downtown Newnan
The Labor Day Sidewalk Sale, sponsored by Main Street Newnan, is an annual tradition! This is an all-day shopping event that starts on the Friday before Labor Day and ends with the Downtown Arts Festival on Monday. During the Labor Day Sidewalk Sale, visitors are invited to walk the downtown streets and shop the best deals of the year.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 30

SUNRISE ON THE SQUARE 5K RACE
8-10 am, Downtown Newnan
The Sunrise on the Square Labor Day Road Race is a local favorite, and has been held annually in Downtown Newnan on the Saturday before Labor Day for over 40 years! The race begins in Downtown Newnan and spans through “The City of Homes,” where runners will catch a glimpse of our beautiful, historic in-town neighborhoods and commercial district. The race features a 5k USATF certified course (chipped timing), where runners will enjoy the diversity of terrain, including: long flat stretches, downhill, and uphill sections. The Sunrise on the Square Labor Day Road race welcomes both runners and walkers of all skill levels. This race will benefit the Newnan/Coweta Boys & Girls Club. On-site registration is from 6:30-7:30 a.m.

COWETA’S LONGEST YARD SALE / ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW
8 am – 5 pm, Highway 34 West, Newnan
FREE admission & parking for this annual tradition of MILES-LONG junkin’ and treasure hunting! Multiple locations/sales down Franklin Road (Hwy. 34 West). Keith’s Corner Arts & Crafts (corner of Hwy. 34 Bypass & Franklin Road); Witter’s Pond (904 Hwy. 34 West); Brown’s Farm (925 Hwy. 34 West); Franklin Road Flea Market (54 Franklin Road); also 3307 Hwy. 34 West and 104 Franklin Road.

COWETA COUNTY FARMER’S MARKET

SERENBE FARMERS AND ARTISTS MARKET

This weekly market partners with quality vendors including growers, artisans, craftmakers and healthy food producers. The market is filled with fresh produce, delicious foods, fine arts and crafts.

LABOR DAY ARTS FESTIVAL

The beloved Downtown Newnan Labor Day Arts Festival is back on Monday, September 1, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., transforming the historic Downtown Square into a celebration of art, creativity, and community spirit—and admission is completely FREE! Inspired by the cherished Powers Crossroads Festival, this event was established in 2015 to revive the artistic magic that once filled Labor Day weekends across Coweta County. Since then, it has grown into one of the area’s most anticipated arts events, showcasing the incredible talent of artists from near and far. Wander the square and discover handcrafted goods including paintings, pottery, woodwork, jewelry, textiles, and more.
