FRIDAY, DECEMBER 20

POLAR EXPRESS DAY
10 a.m.-3 p.m., Downtown Newnan
Join the Newnan Carnegie Library, Children Connect Museum and Newnan Leisure Services for this multi-location event on Friday, December 20, with Polar Express movie showtimes at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at the Wadsworth Auditorium, 25 Jefferson Street, Newnan, GA 30263 (doors will open at 10 a.m.). Feel free to drop in and out of the movie to join crafts and activities at either the Newnan Carnegie Library or the Children Connect Museum. The Trolley (with special guest onboard, ahem, Santa!) will stop at each location throughout the event, or you may walk between locations. This is a FREE event, registration required. SENOIA ALIVE AFTER FIVE: MIRACLE ON MAIN STREET
5-9 p.m., Downtown Senoia
Christmas magic fills downtown Senoia at our final Alive After Five of the year! The event features live music performances by local musicians, food trucks, and vendors selling handcrafted artisan goods, jewelry, artwork and much more!

SWEETLAND ON ICE

During the winter season, Sweetland Amphitheatre hosts a covered 5,500 square foot open-air ice-skating rink provided and operated by the Sweetland team. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the festive atmosphere, skating for all ages, a spectator section with heaters to enjoy the ice-skating action, and affordable concessions. FANTASY IN LIGHTS

Humorist Jean Shepherd’s memoir of growing up in the Midwest in the 1940s follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker in his quest to get a genuine Red Ryder BB gun under the tree for Christmas. Ralphie pleads his case before his mother, his teacher and even Santa Claus himself at Higbee’s Department Store. The consistent response: “You’ll shoot your eye out!” All the elements from the beloved motion picture are here. MAKE FRIENDS WITH NATURE

Please join the folks at Chattahoochee Bend State Park for a 2-hour walk. Make friends with nature and also make some new hiking friends along the way. $5 a person and $5 for parking.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET

Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

CHRISTMAS OPEN HOUSE
10 a.m.-3 p.m., 7 Main Street, Moreland
A Christmas Open House will take place at Lewis Grizzard’s Hometown Heritage Museum and Erskine Caldwell’s the Little Manse. Visit the Emporium Gift Shop for handmade and unique treasures from local artists and crafters. Enjoy scenes of vintage Christmas celebrations from 1900-1950. Free to attend.

SHARPSBURG WINTERFEST
10 a.m.-5 p.m., A&O Bridges Community Center, 105 Main Street, Sharpsburg
Saturday and Sunday is Artificial Ice Skating and Winterfest Fun! We will have food trucks, coffee truck, gift vendors, dessert vendors, and several no-cost family activities on site in the community center from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. Skating Slots are available for booking from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Click www.tinyurl.com/sharpskate to sign up. All proceeds go to the Downtown Development Authority of Sharpsburg Georgia to be used in the promotion of growth and revitalization of Old Towne Sharpsburg.
