Below are fun, educational and family-friendly events in-and-around Coweta County this weekend and beyond.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect partly sunny to sunny skies this weekend with highs forecast at 88 degrees on Friday, 89 on Saturday and 90 on Sunday. Rain chances listed at 30 percent Friday, 60 percent on Saturday and 50 percent on Sunday. Overnight lows near 70.

July 14 – FRIDAY

The Contraband
10 a.m. at the Pavillion at Temple, 29 Hospital Road, Newnan
Hosted by the Coweta County Senior Services. Get your hat, our chair and put on your dancing shoes. Lunch $2 per person.

Armchair Travelers: Greece
3:30-4:30 p.m. at Newnan Carnegie Library, 1 LaGrange Street, Newnan • 770-683-1347
Join the Newnan Carnegie Library as they welcome guest Bette Hickman as she discusses her adventures in Greece! She will share photos and the experiences of visiting Athens and the island of Crete. Register HERE.

July 15 – SATURDAY

Peachtree City Youth Triathlon
8 a.m. at Glenloch Recreation Center, 601 Stevens Entry, Peachtree City
Age Division: Juniors (7-10), Seniors (11-15)  (age as of 12/31/2023). Packet pick up will be next to Glenloch Field start at 6:30am. Try to get there early so you have plenty of time. PPU will close at 7:45- so don’t be late! Each athlete must be able to swim a lap (2 lengths) in the pool. Parents please make sure your child is prepared to swim with no assistance. Registration is $50.  If you are not as USAT member, you will need to purchase an annual membership for $10.

Coweta County Farmers Market / Newnan
8:30 a.m.-Noon at Asa M. Powell Sr. Expo Center, 197 Temple Avenue, Newnan
Every Wednesday and Saturday (thru mid-October) Local farmers  offer homegrown fruits, vegetables, homemade food items, plants and more!

Senoia Farmers Market
8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at 40 Travis Street, Senoia
It is a community-oriented marketplace that features a variety of local farmers, food producers, artisans, and craftsmen. You can find a wide selection of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, herbs, and flowers. There are also local food producers selling homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, and other artisanal products. The market also features handmade crafts, such as pottery, jewelry, and textiles. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and other family-friendly activities.  EVERY Saturday.

Serenbe Farmers Market
9 a.m. -1 p.m. at 9110 Selborne Lane, Palmetto
Serenbe Farmers Market offers a variety of healthy foods and artisanal goods on a large green space surrounded by a canopy of trees. Spend the morning shopping for your weekly groceries or unique gifts & wears while enjoying the beauty of nature.

Peachtree City Market
9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
This market brings approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats, honey, eggs, prepared foods and so much more. It’s the perfect place to find the consummate gift for the foodie in your life and visitors will also find live music going on.

Rushing Into Water Bodies
10 a.m. at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan
Come to the park to learn some cool facts about bodies of water. Then do some origami to help remember the differences. Meet at the visitor’s center, and don’t forget to pre-register at 770-254-7271. $5 park pass is required.

Hogansville Alive After 5
5-9 p.m. in downtown Hogansville
Live music and performances, food trucks and more.

July 17 – MONDAY

Coach Max Bass Golf Classic

2nd Annual Carroll County Extension Fest

Everyone is welcome to an evening of community fellowship and fun. Food Trucks, Games, Hands-On Activities with Family & Consumer Science, 4-H & Shooting Sports, Pigs and Cattle, and much more.
