Below are some of the events in-and-around Coweta County this Independence Day weekend (Thursday-Saturday, July 3-5).

• Friday, July 4 / Independence Day – Sunny with a high of 92 degrees and overnight low of 71.
• Saturday, July 5 – Sunny with a high of 92 and an overnight low of 69.
• Sunday, July 6 – Mostly sunny with a high of 90 (20% rain chance) and an overnight low of 71 (10% rain chance).

THURSDAY, JULY 3

GRANTVILLE FIREWORKS FESTIVAL
4-10 pm, Downtown Grantville
The City of Grantville will hold its Independence Day Celebration a day early. The downtown streets will be blocked with open public parking nearby. Food, Bounce Houses, Activities and Live Music with John Cox lead to the Fireworks show which begins at dark.

FRIDAY, JULY 4

NEWNAN INDEPENDENCE DAY PARADE
9 am, Downtown Newnan
Everyone is invited to celebrate Independence Day in downtown Newnan with the annual 4th of July Parade. The parade will begin at Veteran’s Memorial Park (Temple Avenue Park) at 9 a.m., and will end at the Long Place and Salbide Avenue intersection.

PEACHTREE CITY FOURTH OF JULY PARADE / FIREWORKS
9 am, Peachtree Parkway, Peachtree City
The annual parade begins at Village on the Green, just north of the Braelinn Golf Course, on Peachtree Parkway. The parade will travel north on the Parkway, cross over Crosstown Road and proceed north. It will turn left on McIntosh Trail and left again into the parking lot of the McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex. The route is approximately 2 miles. Bring the family. And at dark, PTC provides a Fireworks Show over Lake Peachtree.

4TH OF JULY CAR SHOW
10:30 am-2 pm, McRitchie-Hollis Museum, 74 Jackson Street, Newnan
Come see cars and trucks from bygone days at the 2nd Annual 4th of July Car Show at the History Center’s McRitchie-Hollis Museum parking lot! Event opens at 10:30 a.m. just after the 4th of July parade in downtown Newnan. Be sure to stop by before 2:00 when the cars will zoom away! Owners will be on hand to discuss their unique vehicle and answer questions. This is a fundraiser for the History Center. Please make a minimum donation of $5 per person or $20 per family. You can purchase tickets the day of, visit the McRitchie-Hollis Museum beforehand or visit our website at https://newnancowetahistory.com/programs-events/. Need more info.? FOURTH OF JULY CAMPGROUND DECORATING CONTEST
All Day, Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan • 770-254-7271
Campground 1 only. Show your patriotism by going all out in decorating your campsite! Winner gets a prize!

FIREWORKS OVER NEWNAN
5-10 pm, Newnan High School’s Lower Field, 190 LaGrange Street, Newnan
The Festival is produced by the Rotary Club of Newnan and will begin at 5 p.m. This is a free, family event. Bring your tailgate chairs and battery fans to enjoy live music by the Kris Youmans Band on the “Unity Stage,” Kid Friendly entertainment in the “Life Zone” and delicious eats and food trucks in the “Pursuit of Happiness Food Row.” The Fireworks Show will start at 9 p.m.

COWETA VETERANS CLUB FIREWORKS PARTY
6 pm, American Legion, 130 Veterans Club Road, Newnan
Come on out and have some fun. Sponsored by Sons of the American Legion.

SATURDAY, JULY 5

COWETA COUNTY FARMER’S MARKET
8:30 am-Noon, Asa Powell Expo Center, 197 Temple Avenue, Newnan • 770-254-2620
It’s the 48th year bringing you only locally grown, fresh seasonal produce, beef, eggs, honey, flowers, baked goods, handmade crafts and so much more! This Guy’s BBQ will be there in case you are hungry.

SENOIA FARMER’S MARKET
8:30 am – 1 pm, 40 Travis Street, Senoia
Locally-sourced Farmer’s Market, every Saturday. Fresh produce, baked goods, local artisans and much more.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 am-1 pm, Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

SERENBE FARMERS AND ARTISTS MARKET
9 am-1 pm, 10640 Serenbe Lane, Chattahoochee Hills
This weekly market partners with quality vendors including growers, artisans, craftmakers and healthy food producers. The market is filled with fresh produce, delicious foods, fine arts and crafts.

DOWNTOWN NEWNAN MARKET DAY
10 am-2 pm at Courthouse Square, downtown Newnan
It’s the monthly Market Day in downtown Newnan. The event is hosted by Main Street Newnan on the first Saturday of every month. The Market features over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.

CAMPERS ONLY FIELD DAY

FIFTH OF JULY FIREWORKS CELEBRATION
4 pm, Downtown Hogansville
Join the folks in downtown Hogansville for their 2nd annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration! Food trucks will be located across from the Royal Theater starting at 4 pm! Fireworks will begin at dusk! Bring the kids and spend the evening in Historic Hogansville!

GLOW HIKE
9-11 pm, Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan • 770-254-7271
Deck out in your glow shoes, necklaces, bracelets and join the naturalist on a glow hike to listen to the riverside night life. Glow sticks will be provided, but bring your own for a more glow! Contact the Visitor Center 770-251-7271 to reserve your spot!
