Forty-seven years after Wait Until Dark premiered on Broadway, Jeffrey Hatcher has adapted Frederick Knott’s 1966 original, giving it a new setting. In 1944 Greenwich Village, Susan Hendrix, a blind yet capable woman, is imperiled by a trio of men in her own apartment. As the climax builds, Susan discovers that her blindness just might be the key to her escape, but she and her tormentors must wait until dark to play out this classic thriller’s chilling conclusion. It’s the 7th Annual Halloween Fall Fest at Ashley Park. It kicks off at 11 a.m. with trick-or-treating throughout the center, a fall vendor market, music and family fun – including a costume contest and a very special pick-your-own pumpkin patch courtesy of our friends at Mainscape. Make sure to dress your best, Newnan. Will also be a huge Fall Market in front of DSW and inflatables and food trucks in front of Barnes & Noble.

FAMILY NATURE DISCOVERY DAY
2-4 p.m., Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bobwhite Way, Newnan

FALL FESTIVAL

Everyone is invited to the annual Fall Festival at New Hope Baptist Church. The event is free. Attendees will find a Coffee Bar, Inflatables, Games and Puzzles, Pumpkin Painting, Chili, Hot Dogs, Chips, Drinks, Popcorn and a Hayride. Please no scary costumes.
TRICK OR TREAT AT THE BEND!

Join the folks at Chattahoochee Bend State Park for their annual Trick or Treat! There will be a campsite decorating contest & costume contest. Campers be sure to check in at the office, to let us know if you will have candy at your site and you will get a special sign to put out, so all the ghouls and goblins will know to stop by for a treat. Event will be held in campground #1. Stop by the info table near the comfort station for your ballots to vote for best campsite and costume! Then head up to the visitor center for the Campfire & Smores event at 8 p.m. You must pre-register & pre-pay ($5) for the campfire & smores event. Hosted by Leaf and Bean, benefitting Hearts n’ Homes! This is a 21+ Event. Please bring a valid form of ID for all participating parties. Please note that we do not accept pictures of ID’s, we need a physical copy present. $20 for each participant. This includes four three ounce pours of wine, 12 ounces total. 14TH ANNUAL BLUEGRASS & BBQ
4 p.m., University of West Georgia Newnan Campus, 80 Jackson Street, Newnan
Event hosted by Coweta Samaritan Clinic. Join them for their second year on the front lawn of University of West Georgia-Newnan for one of their favorite events of the year! Enjoy creative appetizers, a buffet of scrumptious southern fare, including Brandon Lovett’s “World-Famous” Brunswick stew, our BBQ Committee’s Asian slaw, and of course, Dunc’s BBQ Kitchen’s fantastic brisket, pork, and chicken with sides of green beans and mac & cheese!
