FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 20

NEWNAN FUMC CONSIGNMENT SALE
9 a.m.- 5 p.m., Newnan First United Methodist Church, 33 Greenville Street, Newnan
It’s that time of the year again as the Newnan First United Methodist Preschool and Kindergarten hosts its Fall Children’s Consignment Sale.The huge two-day sale will take place on Friday and Saturday. Customers are asked to bring their own shopping bags. And this sale will be cash or check only. The Fall sale offers sizes preemie/NB to size 14-16 for girls and boys, feeding related items, bedding, toys, furniture and accessories, infant gear, books, videos and shoes.

KIWANIS COWETA COUNTY FAIR
5 p.m.-Midnight, Coweta County Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Road, Newnan
This is Day 9 of the 76th Annual Kiwanis Coweta County Fair. Individual Exhibits and Booths in Exhibit Hall, plus Animal Exhibits in the Ag Building and Midway. Entertainment by Iron P Homestead Exotic Petting Zoo, Extreme Sculpting with Chainsaw Artist Chris, DJ King Justice, Inflatables, Games and Crafts, plus Princesses. Two competitions include the 4-H Showmanship Sweepstakes at 6:30 p.m. in the Livestock Arena and the Coweta County Fair Beauty Pageant at 7 p.m. in Exhibit Hall. FALL ART WALK
5-9 p.m. in downtown Newnan
One of the best ways to kick off the fall season in downtown Newnan is to take part in the festivities of the 2024 Fall Art Walk. This Main Street Newnan event will take place in-and-around the downtown Newnan Courthouse Square. The Art Walk Event is Newnan’s celebration of local art and is hosted twice a year. It allows folks to see art come to life on city’s sidewalks. During the Art Walk, businesses extend their hours to host storefront exhibits and demonstrations curated by a variety of Newnan’s finest artists. Some of the local businesses will have specials and promotions throughout the night.Visitors can expect to stroll through over 25 locations and see the work of at least 40 artists which will display a wide variety of art styles and mediums, including oil on canvas, chalk art, engraving, pottery, photography, jewelry making, fiber arts, performing arts and acrylics. There is no fee for admission to this event.

WGTC ANNUAL BLACK TIE & BOOTS
6 p.m., Callaway Conference Center, 220 Fort Drive, LaGrange
The 22nd Annual Black Tie & Boots fundraiser by the West Georgia Technical College Foundation offers up another unforgettable evening with entertainment by the sensational Platinum Southeast Premier Dance Band. To purchase tickets, visit: HERE.

SATURDAY FOOD DISTRIBUTION
8 a.m., Bridging The Gap, 19 1st Avenue, Newnan
Free weekly drive-thru food pantry. Boxes typically include frozen meat, fresh fruits and produce, dairy, bread and desserts. First come, first served. Registration is required on site the day of distribution.

FIDO FEST AT ASHLEY PARK
8 a.m.-1 p.m., Ashley Park, 384 Newnan Crossing Bypass, Newnan
Are you ready to pawty? Join us on September 21 for Fido Fest 2024, benefiting Hearts ‘n Homes Rescue of Coweta County!  The day kicks off with a 1-mile fun run for families, kids + pups, with our timed 5K following. After racing, guests can enjoy more paw-some things for the whole family – like live entertainment, pet vendors, a doggo splash zone, and lots of activities for the kiddos! Hearts ‘n Homes will also have dogs on site that are in need of furever homes.

COWETA COUNTY FARMER’S MARKET

Your favorite farm families and vendors return alongside exciting new additions, all eager to meet you at the Coweta County Farmer’s Market! In addition, Coweta County UGA Extension’s Family & Consumer Science Agent will join us this season with fun cooking demos, food safety tips and children’s activities. Plus, don’t miss the chance to meet your new furry best friend, as Coweta County Animal Services will be on-site offering pet adoptions.

SENOIA FARMER’S MARKET

Locally-sourced Farmer’s Market, every Saturday.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 a.m.- 1 p.m., Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

SERENBE FARMERS MARKET
9 a.m.- 1 p.m., The Grange Green, 10640 Serenbe Lane, Chattahoochee Hills
The Serenbe Farmers Market hosts Growers, Artisans, Craft-makers, and Healthy Food Producers. Parking is available along Serenbe Lane in Grange.

THE SHARPSBURG MARKET
10 a.m.-2 p.m., 105 Main Street, Sharpsburg
Bring family and friends to enjoy the Sharpsburg Market. It’s hosted by Team Hungry (student-led nonprofit) to cultivate community. Attendees will find a collection of local vendors with all kinds of wonderful goods for you to browse. Come and enjoy your Saturday in this gem of a town nestled not far from East Coweta High School.

47TH ANNUAL SHAKERAG ARTS & CRAFTS FESTIVAL
10 a.m.-6 p.m., 201 McIntosh Trail, Peachtree City
Everyone is invited to come to the McIntosh Trail Complex (across from the Fred Amphitheater) for a delightful shopping, food, and fun weekend. With over 120 artisans and food vendors, there’s something for everyone!

19TH ANNUAL SENOIA CAR SHOW
10 a.m.-4 p.m., Downtown Senoia
This annual event showcases 500 classic and custom cars from all over Georgia. It features a range of vehicles, including vintage cars, muscle cars, hot rods, and custom trucks. The Senoia Car Show is a family-friendly event that offers something for everyone. In addition to the impressive collection of cars on display, there are also food vendors, music, door prizes and more! Admission is free.

KIWANIS COWETA COUNTY FAIR
Noon-Midnight, Coweta County Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Road, Newnan
This is Day 10 of the 76th Annual Kiwanis Coweta County Fair. Individual Exhibits and Booths in Exhibit Hall, plus Animal Exhibits in the Ag Building and Midway. Entertainment by Donald White – The Science Guy, Police K-9 Demonstration, Jerry G. White on Percussion, Iron P Homestead Exotic Petting Zoo, Extreme Sculpting with Chainsaw Artist Chris, DJ King Justice,  Inflatables Games and Crafts, plus Princesses. Competitions include the Cattlemen’s Cook-Off in Exhibit Hall and Lumberjack & Lumberjill in the Livestock Arena. Admission is $10, Children 5-and-under are free. It’s Military Appreciation Day, All Active and Retired Military Personnel are granted Free Admission with ID. Ride Armbands are $35. BIRDING PRESENTATION AND HIKE
10 a.m., Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bobwhite Way, Newnan • 770-254-7271
Wear comfortable clothes and good hiking shoes. Bring water and your favorite way to take pictures. Come take a hike with the naturalist to learn about the different birds we have and get some cool pictures along the way. Call the park office to reserve your spot 770-254-7271. 6TH ANNUAL RIDE FOR RECOVERY
12:30 p.m., Change Church, 45 West Broad Street, Grantville
Co-hosted by Coweta Force and Change Church. Kickstands up at 1 p.m. at Change Church with ride ending at the Coweta Force location, 36 Salbide Avenue in Newnan. This fundraiser offers Raffle prizes, Photo Booth, music and free food at the finish. To register, click HERE.
