It’s the holiday season and the local calendar is filled with lots of family-friendly and fun events here in Coweta as well as neighboring counties.

Check out what’s taking place locally beginning Wednesday, Nov. 29 through Sunday, December 3.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 29

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
This market brings approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats, honey, eggs, prepared foods and so much more. It’s the perfect place to find the consummate gift for the foodie in your life and visitors will also find live music going on.

FRIDAY, DECEMBER 1

NEWNAN CHRISTMAS TOUR OF HOMES
4-9 p.m. at East Broad, Greenville-LaGrange Street neighborhoods, Newnan
It’s the 8th year of hosting the Newnan Christmas Tour of Homes, hosted by Newnan Presbyterian School. This year’s tour proceeds will benefit Elevate Coweta Students. The tour features neighborhoods of East Broad Street and Greenville-LaGrange Streets. It’s a celebration of triumph over the Newnan tornado. Included with the tour is wine and charcuterie. During the winter season, Sweetland Amphitheatre hosts a covered 5,500 square foot open-air ice-skating rink provided and operated by the Sweetland team. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the festive atmosphere, skating for all ages, a spectator section with heaters to enjoy the ice-skating action, and affordable concessions. SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2

PAPER SHREDDING EVENT
8 a.m.-Noon behind Newnan City Hall, 25 LaGrange Street, Newnan • 678-673-5505

SENOIA FARMERS MARKET
8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at 40 Travis Street, Senoia
It is a community-oriented marketplace that features a variety of local farmers, food producers, artisans, and craftsmen. You can find a wide selection of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, herbs, and flowers. There are also local food producers selling homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, and other artisanal products. The market also features handmade crafts, such as pottery, jewelry, and textiles. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and other family-friendly activities.  EVERY Saturday.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 a.m.-1 p.m. at Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City

HIKE AND YOGA
9:30 a.m. at Chattahoochie Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan
Come join the Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park for a Hike and Yoga! Guests will meet at the Visitor Center at 9:30 a.m. to complete paperwork before moving to Trailhead 1. The hike will explore the Flat Rock Trail system for 45-60 minutes before setting up for a yoga session. Participants will eat lunch before heading back to Trailhead 1. The cost is $25. Additionally, all participants are required to purchase a parking pass ($5) or possess a valid annual State Park pass (not a National Park pass) or Friends of Georgia State Parks pass. Participants should have good hiking boots, water, lunch, yoga mat, and towel to protect your mat. A limited number of mats are available for loan and can be reserved when registering. Please bring a towel if borrowing a mat. All proceeds go to Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park. To register, click HERE.

DOWNTOWN NEWNAN MARKET DAY
10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Courthouse Square, downtown Newnan
Hosted by Main Street Newnan on the first Saturday of every month. The Market features over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.

CHRISTMAS AT MADRAS
10-11:30 a.m. at Madras Community Center, 2355 Highway 29 North, Newnan
The Madras Community Center welcomes kids 10-and-under for a Special Event with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Kids Activities will take place in the banquet room. Donuts and drinks will be provided by each registered child, and other refreshments will be available for up to 3 guests (parents/siblings). Each registered child will have an opportunity to speak with and take a photo with Santa Claus. $5 Entry Fee. For info and to register, click HERE.

CHRISTMAS IN CARROLLTON MARKET & PARADE
10 a.m.-7 p.m. in downtown Carrollton
‘Tis the season to celebrate Christmas in Downtown Carrollton! Bring your family downtown for an altogether magical day filled with festivities and fun. Shop the gift market from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and get your photo taken with Santa. Stay in the spirit with the SEC championship game shown at the Amp at 4 p.m. Wrap up your day with the Carrollton Christmas Parade at 5:30 p.m. and enjoy the lights and decorations that will add a sparkle to your evening.

BICYCLE DONATIONS AT NPD
11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Newnan Police Department, 1 Joseph Hannah Boulevard, Newnan
This year the Newnan Police Department is teaming up with the Coweta County Correctional Institute, and American Legion Post 57 of Newnan to collect bikes to give to children for Christmas. This is the second year for this great program started by the Coweta County Correctional Institute, and American Legion Post 57 of Newnan. So please help make a child’s Christmas great.

PET PICTURES WITH SANTA
11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Madras Community Center, 2355 Highway 29 North, Newnan
Bring at least one donation for Coweta County Animal Services to get your picture with Santa. Items needed are towels, canned dog food, dog leashes, stainless steel bowls, laundry soap and bleach. For info and to register, click HERE.

The City of Hogansville presents its 2023 Christmas Parade and Winter Market. Craft Vendors, Holiday Music, Food Vendors, Christmas Parade and a visit with Santa Claus. The Winter Market hours are 3-8 p.m. with the Parade at 6 p.m.

WINTERFEST 2023 / CHRISTMAS IN FRANKLIN
3-9 p.m. at Downtown Franklin Square, Franklin GA
Food, Arts and Crafts, Parade, Pictures with Santa, Live Music, Christmas Music and more. Free admission. Hosted by the Heard County Chamber of Commerce.

LIGHT UP SENOIA
4 p.m. in downtown Senoia
Fun-filled evening in Senoia highlighted by its 2023 Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. Live Music, Food Trucks, the Senoia Stepettes, Kids Activities, Lighting of the Tree, plus Santa Claus.

Join the City of Peachtree City for its annual kick-off to the holiday season with Hometown Holiday. Food, crafts, holiday gift market, tree lighting and more including a visit from Santa himself!

UNSILENT NIGHT
7 p.m. at Greenville Street Park in downtown Newnan
Hosted by the Newnan Cultural Arts Commission. It’s an original composition by Phil Kline, written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. It takes the form of a street promenade in which the audience becomes the performer. Each participant gets one of four tracks of music in the form of a cassette, CD, or Mp3. Together all four tracks comprise Unsilent Night. Free Event.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3

Event is inside the museum. Please park off Clark St. behind the museum. Walk past the white gazebo in our back garden and around to the front door.

3 REDNECK TENORS
