Super Pasta Salad recipe tops the Most Viewed Posts list for 2023

Columnist Angela McRae didn’t purposely try to create a viral sensation last June but she did.
Her food column – The Weekly Kitchen – was doing its thing, sharing delicious recipes with our readers, both in print and on the Winters Media & Publishing digital platforms – Website, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter (now X). And as summer quickly approached, Angela was looking for a recipe to help folks stay out of the kitchen.
That’s the premise of it all. Nothing more, nothing less. She simply turned to one of her old, metal recipe tins and came across a “Super Pasta Salad” recipe. It appeared in the June 7, 14 and 21 issues of The Weekly and made its way to our digital platforms on June 15.
Then it happened. The Super Pasta Salad recipe went viral. So much so that it nearly had 100,000 views on our digital platforms. Officially, the view total was 96,752 which led Angela to respond via email when notified – “Good heavens. That is incredible. I’m guessing folks throughout the world are big pasta fans?”
The recipe almost doubled the No. 2 story on our list of most viewed – Dr. Gamal Kemp named Newnan High Principal. That story was viewed 51,114 times about a month earlier (May 22).
Two additional food stories made the Top Five – Apollo’s Steaks moves to a larger location (8,679 views on June 1) was third and A Moveable Feast: Coweta’s Food Truck Parks by Katie Anderson garnered 5,912 views on October 4 for fifth place.
In between was our No. 4 post from Lake Wedowee Brokers announcing an Alabama Dream Cabin for sale, which totaled some 6,145 views (Nov. 17).
