Newnan’s Kris Youmans fronts the Kris Youmans Band which has a unique roots, country sound with a bit of Western swing that makes them a perfect edition to GPB’s Georgia’s Country Connection SERIES. We are fortunate that Kris writes The Music column for us each month.

• Aaron Watkins & Randy Watkins made a trip to the Grand Ole Opry recently. Tim Dugger, who Randy used to play music with, invited the two of them backstage where Aaron got to meet and hang out with Rhonda Vincent, Kid Rock and was introduced to emcee Larry Gatlin! • Mary Martin has been performing as a vocalist with a band called ‘Rookie of the Year’, and has plans to tour with them in the summer, hitting Chicago, Pittsburgh and Nashville, among other cities! Mary is currently writing material for her next release at Real2Reel Studio. Artistically she’s shifting more towards a rock/alternative based sound for this collection of songs. Mary’s music calendar is posted on social media/on Facebook under Mary Martin music, and @colormemary on Instagram. • RPM is looking for bands to hold live practice night on the patio for Bike nights at 5 to 8 p.m. Contact Joe Rizzo @ RPM. A Battle of the Bands is also in the works.
