FRIDAY, MAY 24

NEWNAN HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION
7:30 p.m., Drake Stadium, Newnan High School, 190 LaGrange Street, Newnan
Newnan High School anticipates honoring these 517 graduates at its 2024 annual Commencement Ceremony. Inclement weather date is Saturday, May 25 at 8:30 a.m.

SATURDAY, MAY 25

SENOIA FARMER’S MARKET
8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m., 40 Travis Street, Senoia
Locally-sourced Farmer’s Market, every Saturday.

VETERANS MEMORIAL FLAG PLACEMENT
9 a.m., Coweta Veterans Club, 130 Veterans Club Drive, Newnan • 770-251-6949
Volunteers are welcome to come out and assist placing flags on veterans’ graves. Meet at the Coweta Veterans Club to receive maps of the graves as well as coffee and donuts. The groups will then go to both Oak Hill and Forest Lawn Cemeteries. Flags to be given out at the cemeteries. If possible, bring a screwdriver to poke holes in the ground for flags.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 a.m.- 1 p.m., Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

YOGA FOR A CAUSE – COMMUNITY EVENT
10 a.m., Greenville Street Park, Downtown Newnan
Hosted by Coweta FORCE and Zoe Powell Strawn. Join us for a rejuvenating day of yoga, meditation, and community support, hosted by Lifecycle Yoga & Wellness. Refreshments, Yoga Sessions, Breathe Work, Resource Tents, Raffle Basket and more. Drop in anytime. Donations welcome with proceeds benefitting the Affordable Housing Project.

GEORGIA RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL
10:30 a.m. – 6 p.m., 6905 Virlyn B. Smith Road, Fairburn • 770-964-8575

CHARACTERS & CRAFT DAY
11 a.m.-1 p.m., Ashley Park, 354 Newnan Crossing Bypass, Newnan
Kiddos! Come one, Come all in your favorite character costume! Bring all the kiddos out for some fun on The Green sponsored by City of Hope. Your favorite characters will join us to enjoy some crafts and character fun! Meet & greet your favorite superheroes and princesses. Open to the public/free event. Princesses, Bluey & Bingo, Pikachu, Spiderman, Free Airbrush Face Painting, Balloon Artists, Live Music, Costume Contest and more.

SENOIA’S MEMORIAL DAY CELEBRATION
5 p.m., Senoia City Park Marimac Lakes, 148 Pylant Street, Senoia
Everyone is invited to our annual Memorial Day Celebration in Senoia! Join us for an evening filled with food trucks, adult beverages, live music, DJ, kid’s activities, and fireworks! We encourage you to invite your friends, family and neighbors to this special celebration! Live music with the Wyatt Band (Senoia Library Patio) from 5-7 p.m., Kids Bicycle Decorating Contest at 6, more live music with Duncan Brothers (Main Stage) at 7:30 p.m., and Fireworks at 9:30.

N.I.T.W.I.T.S.: GAME OVER

Two rookie game developers are at their wit’s end, trying to decide what hot new video game everyone will want to play. They’ve gone through many ideas and scrapped every single one of them. After the repetitive cycle of continuously “having an idea!” and then throwing it away because “it’s stupid!”, they decide it is time to call for reinforcements. Join our developers in brainstorming to create the perfect video game designed for the people and by the people. You will see cut scenes and gameplay from YOUR ideas! Play, pause, and create your own characters. Just make sure they don’t die!
With your help, these rookie game developers may get to keep their jobs. No pressure! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased HERE.

MONDAY, MAY 27

SENOIA MEMORIAL DAY REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY
9 a.m., City of Senoia Cemetery
Please join us as we come together as a community to honor our nation’s brave service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. The purpose of this remembrance service is to ensure that the sacrifices made by the fallen soldiers are not forgotten, and to show gratitude and respect for their service. It is also a time to reflect on the cost of freedom and to honor the families of those who have lost loved ones in service to their country. Everyone is welcome, please bring a chair for comfort. We will have guest speakers, a moment of silence, and a flyover by the Full Throttle Formation Team.

PEACTHREE CITY MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
9 a.m., Peachtree City City Hall, 151 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City
Meet at the flagpole veterans monument to remember the men and women who died in service. There were be a short program and a flyover.

It’s a Pirate Invasion. AARRRR, MATEYS! Drop anchor in the Village of Newcastle and discover delicious food and drink, artisan-made treasures, and rollicking good entertainment! It’s three days full of fun piratical hijinks! Plus on Memorial Day Monday all veterans and active military get in free at the gate! For information on tickets, visit garenfest.com.

NEWNAN MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY
11 a.m., Veterans Park, Downtown Newnan
This annual ceremony is open to the public. Bring a chair for seating. If inclement weather, the event will be moved inside to the Chapel at McKoon Funeral Home. A free lunch will be available following the ceremony at the Coweta Veterans Club, 130 Veterans Club Road, Newnan.
