FRIDAY, MARCH 21

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
10-11 a.m., The Newnan Carnegie Library, 1 LaGrange Street, Downtown Newnan • 770-683-1347
Join everyone at the Newnan Carnegie Library for story time! Each session, we will explore a new theme through books, songs, and body movement. Activities will be followed by a themed craft or open play. This program is recommended for children ages 3-6, but siblings are welcome.

SPRING ART WALK
5-9 p.m., Downtown Newnan
The Art Walk Event is Main Street Newnan’s celebration of local art, hosted twice a year in downtown Newnan! During the Art Walk, businesses extend their hours to host store-front exhibits and demonstrations curated by a variety of Newnan’s finest artists. Visitors can expect to stroll through over 25 locations and see the work of at least 40 artists, and you will find a wide variety of art styles and mediums, including: oil on canvas, engraving, pottery, photography, jewelry-making, fiber arts, performing arts and acrylics.

SPONGEBOB THE MUSICAL

Plunge into this stunning all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show! When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. Winner of 3 Tony Awards and 4 Drama Desk Awards, Lend Me A Tenor is set in September 1934. Henry Saunders, the general manager of the Cleveland Grand Opera Company, is primed to welcome world-famous singer Tito Merelli, known as Il Stupendo, the greatest tenor of his generation, to appear for one night only as the star of the opera. But things go sideways. Tickets are $28 for adults, $20 for seniors and students and $15 for children (10-and-under). To purchase tickets, click HERE.

GUIDED NATURE HIKE
9 a.m., Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan • 770-254-7271
Join the naturalist at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in a guided nature hike. Wear a good pair of hiking shoes. Bring a bottle of water and don’t forget to bring your camera. $5 a person and $5 for parking.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET

Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

WATTS UP: THE SCIENCE OF LIGHT BULBS

MAGNOLIA ‘DAYLA’
3-7 p.m., Coweta County Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Road, Newnan
The Newnan Chapter of Continental Societies, Inc. is excited to announce, that the Magnolia “Dayla,” its revitalized signature event, is now a fundraiser. This highly anticipated event celebrates spring with an afternoon of dancing, fellowship, food, and fun, all while supporting the chapter’s scholarship fund and various educational programs. The Magnolia “Dayla” will feature the work of local artist Ezra Thompson, offering attendees a chance to experience art in a beautiful and intimate setting. Guests are invited to attend in semi-formal “CHIC Garden Party” attire—think elegant garden party vibes. Tickets are available for $65 per individual. ST. PATRICK’S DAY BLOCK PARTY (RESCHEDULED from March 15 due to weather)
4-8 p.m., Downtown LaGrange
It’s the annual St. Patrick’s Day Block Party with live music from Whiskey Moon from 4-7 p.m., specialty drinks, balloon animals and airbrush, vendors and more. The event is free.

PIEDMONT ROCKS! FEATURING YACHT ROCK SCHOONER
6:30 p.m., Newnan Centre Amphitheatre, 1515 Lower Fayetteville Road, Newnan
Piedmont Newnan Hospital, a non-profit healthcare provider, is hosting its inaugural benefit concert, Piedmont Rocks!, the first of its kind. This new philanthropic event will replace the Piedmont Newnan Soiree held in previous years. The inaugural event features Yacht Rock Schooner as the headliner. The 7-man Schooner is one of the longest running soft rock tributes and plays tunes from the late ‘70s and early ’80s, including songs by Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald and more. In addition to a night of dancing and singing along to soft rock hits, attendees can purchase dinner from food trucks offering a variety of menu options, and a cash bar will be onsite offering an array of beverages for purchase.
