Jazz In The Park Returns

The Jazz in the Park summer concert series will be returning this month to the Newnan Centre Amphitheatre presented by the Newnan Cultural Arts Commission. Next up in the lineup is the Jazz Legacy Project honoring Billie Holiday featuring Maria Howell on Friday, July 31.

Jazz Legacy Project brings casual jazz listeners inside the minds and music of the most influential and interesting American musicians of all time. Drummer Justin Varnes leads ensembles of various sizes in engaging performances that highlight masters in the jazz tradition such as Billie Holiday.

Maria Howell is an actor and vocalist whose singing career blossomed after her role as the choir soloist in The Color Purple, eventually sharing the stage with Nancy Wilson, George Benson, Ray Charles, Earl Klugh, and Ronnie
Laws. All Jazz in the Park concerts will start at 7:30PM and are family-friendly and free to the public. Food trucks will arrive at 6:30PM for those who would like to come early to claim their spot. Audiences are also able to bring their own food and beverage.

The Newnan Cultural Arts Commission continues to offer VIP and reserved table seating options for this year’s Jazz in the Park series. VIP ticket holders will enjoy exclusive access to a designated viewing area complete with food and beverages, offering an elevated concert experience. Additionally, reserved table seating—accommodating up to six guests—provides attendees the opportunity to bring their own food and drinks while enjoying the show in comfort.
