All Coweta Public Schools, WGTC and UWG Closed on Monday

From Coweta County School System Press Release
Due to the likely impacts of this weekend’s winter weather event, all Coweta County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, January 26.
In addition, The Heritage School and Central Christian School have announced each will be closed as well on Monday. All West Georgia Technical College campuses and offices will be closed Monday. And the University of West Georgia has announced all on-site operations at both the Newnan and Carrollton campuses will be closed with classes taking place remotely. No report from Trinity Christian School as of 9 a.m. on Sunday.
The National Weather Service currently has Coweta within a Winter Weather Advisory, with impacts to our county likely from precipitation and subfreezing temperatures Sunday into Monday. This produces a likelihood of freezing conditions on roadways and other hazards Monday morning.
Also, in addition to ordering a statewide State of Emergency, Georgia Governor Brian Kemp issued a statement at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday ordering all non-emergency state employees in the north Georgia area to remain at home on Monday. The area for this order includes Coweta and adjacent counties.
Because of this, all Coweta schools will be closed for students and employees on Monday, and all extracurricular activities scheduled for Monday will be cancelled and rescheduled.
We will assess county conditions following Sunday night’s anticipated freeze, and communicate with parents Monday afternoon about resuming normal school operations on Tuesday, January 27.
