Sports This Weekend: Hawks, Braves, United, NASCAR and College Basketball

Three Atlanta professional teams – Hawks, United and Braves – are in action this weekend on the area sports scene. And over in Hampton, it’s the Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

The Hawks return from the NBA All-Star break to start a three-game homestand on Friday against Toronto (Peachtree TV). Atlanta hosts Orlando on Sunday and Utah on Tuesday with both games on Bally Sports.

United hits the pitch for its regular-season opener on Saturday at the Columbus Crew (AppleTV). United’s home opener is set for March 9 entertaining the New England Revolution.

The Braves begin a 32-game Spring Training schedule on Saturday at Tampa Bay. There will be no live TV telecasts until March 10 when Bally Sports Southeast will televise the Braves-Yankees, the first of eight spring training games on live TV.

FOX will televise the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday from AMS. On Monday, William Byron took the victory at the rain-delayed Daytona 500.

The Masters is just around the corner (April 11-14). The PGA Tour is at The Mexico Open this weekend with NBC and the Golf Channel leading the coverage.

Also below, UGA, Georgia Tech and Auburn are wrapping up respective regular-season play and are getting ready for league tournaments the second week of March.
