The 2023 prep football playoffs are in full swing this weekend as four local squads have qualified.
East Coweta (7-3) travels to North Paulding for a GHSA 7A first-round game. Northgate (7-3) hosts Dutchtown in a GHSA 5A first-round contest and Trinity Christian (6-4) travels to Bainbridge for a GHSA 4A first-round game. Central Christian advanced in the GAPPs 8-man State Playoffs last week with a 12-2 victory over Lafayette Christian of LaGrange. Central Christian now travels to Unity Christian for second round action on Friday.
Both Newnan High (3-7) and Heritage School (2-8) completed their respective 2023 campaigns last week.
