Takes place in the Pollinator Garden and Demo Garden. Join Coweta County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers for a fun and family friendly citizen scientist experience and collect data for the Great Southeast Pollinator Census! You will count how many and what type of insects land on a plant during a 15-minute window and learn about different pollinators.

August 26 – SATURDAY
Hike & Paddle
8 a.m. at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan
Guests will meet at the Visitor Center to complete paperwork then we’ll start our 5.5-mile hike from the Day Use area up the easy to moderate Riverside Trail at 9 a.m. After arriving at the Back-country camping area we’ll take a short break for lunch and then begin a leisurely 3.5-mile float back down the river, ending up right where we started at the Day Use area. Guests can rent a kayak from the park or bring their own and we’ll haul it up to the Back-country area for you. The cost is just $30 per person (plus boat rental – $20+tax). Additionally, all participants are required to purchase a parking pass ($5) or possess a valid annual State Park pass (not a National Park pass) or Friends of Georgia State Parks pass. All participants should wear clothing suitable for hiking and that they don’t mind getting wet. Sunglasses with a strap and a wide brimmed hat are a good idea while on the river but not required. Additionally, everyone is required to wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) while on the river (PFD is provided with boat rental). Click on THIS LINK to sign up.
