Diabetes Education Program Coming Up

Health Extension for Diabetes (HED) is a community-based diabetes education program for adults who have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes.

HED helps participants learn skills to better manage diabetes through education and group support. Regularly scheduled group meetings focus on meal planning, enjoyable physical activity, and blood sugar monitoring.

The program is led by Olivia Handley, Family and Consumer Sciences Agent with Coweta County Extension, in partnership with Piedmont Newnan Hospital.

Program Includes
Eight educational sessions
Eight support sessions with cooking demonstrations
Self-management resources
Support for managing diabetes more effectively
