From Special Reports

The Coweta County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers (MGEVs) will host a free presentation entitled “Fall Gardening 101” on Saturday, October 8.

Dale Senko, a MGEVs member, will be giving the presentation which is from 10 to 11 a.m.

Those in attendance will learn the basic steps to successful home landscape gardening in Georgia – and “what to do when” in a month-by-month review of Georgia gardening activities from October through December.  Come and add to your own knowledge.

These types of scheduled programs are free and open to the public. Advance registration is requested by calling the Coweta County Extension Office at 770-254-2620.  Registration deadline is Monday, October 3 at 5 p.m.

The presentation will take place at the Coweta County Extension Center, located at 255 Pine Road in Newnan, in the Don Morris Meeting Room.

Coweta County Master Gardener Extension Volunteers have received extensive training through the University of Georgia Master Gardener Program.  All have spent over 60 hours learning about horticulture and gardening to assist the Coweta County Agent in providing researched-based gardening education to the public.  MGEVs benefit from the training and the opportunity to serve their communities.

MGEVs provide presentations to civic groups (churches, garden clubs, homeowners’ associations, and schools) on various gardening topics. Groups may request MGEV speakers by contacting the Coweta County Extension by phone at 770-254-2620.
