Weather: Lots of sunshine with gusty winds this weekend in Coweta

Hurricane Ian has tracked further to the east than originally forecast and as a result, Coweta County will have plenty of sunny skies, cool temperatures and some gusty winds this weekend.

The National Weather Service in Peachtree City says to expect sunny skies during the day and mostly clear skies at night with highs in the mid-70s and overnight lows in the lower 50s. 

Winds will be from the North on Friday at 10-15 mph, gusting to 20. On Saturday, the winds shift and will be from the Northwest at 10-15 mph, also gusting to 20 and then drop to 5-10 mph on Sunday.

FRIDAY – Sunny, with a high near 75. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

FRIDAY NIGHT – A slight chance of showers between 2am and 3am. Mostly clear, with a low around 53. Northwest wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

SATURDAY – Sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

SUNDAY – Sunny, with a high near 73. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 15 mph.

MONDAY – Mostly sunny, with a high near 72.
