Newnan Carnegie to host Hometown Novel Nights

The Newnan Carnegie Library will host its August Hometown Novel Nights on Thursday, Aug. 19.

This special virtual event via Zoom will begin at 6:30 p.m. Registration is required thru the Carnegie’s Evenbrite page.

The August Hometown Novel Nights stars three writers focusing on the genre of Journalism. All three writers have backgrounds in writing news articles, sports articles, and more: Mark Wallace Maguire, Damon Poirier, and John Bednarowski. Each writer will share about themselves, their writing journey, and their latest work. This event will be recorded in case you can’t make it at the scheduled time.

Mark Wallace Maguire has worked for national media companies, small businesses, tourism, civic and nonprofit organizations. As a writer, his work has been featured in over 60 publications, including magazines, financial journals and news sites. Maguire is also the successful author of The Alexandria Rising Chronicles.

Damon Poirier is the author of the 2019 book “Dark Places: An Anthology of Short Stories,” and a journalist whose work can be found in the Cobb Business Journal, the Marietta Daily Journal, and Neighbor Newspapers.

John Bednarowski is the Sports Editor of the Marietta Daily Journal and Cherokee Tribune, the host of Cobb Football Friday, and the Former APSE President. His work can be found in Cherokee Tribune Ledger-News, The Marietta Daily Journal, Yahoo Sports, and many, many more publications.
