NURA, Local Groups to participate in Volunteer Day on Oct. 26
From Special Reports
The City of Newnan’s Urban Redevelopment Agency (NURA) committee members will partner with RiverLife, GO Church, and students from East Coweta High School in a Volunteer Day on Saturday, Oct. 26.
Twice a year, the NURA committee members select a home or property to help improve as an outreach effort intended to lend a helping hand. This effort will include structure repair, painting, and yard work for a home on Pinson Street in the Chalk Level community.
The NURA works closely with community partners to make improvements within their redevelopment area. Their mission is to further the City’s vision for addressing housing issues and opportunities identified in the Urban Redevelopment Plan.
“We are very pleased to have this opportunity to reach out and make a difference in our community,” said NURA Chairman Brant Frost V.
Past projects included home improvement efforts on Salbide Avenue, Wheat Street, Pinson Street as well as the Housing Authority’s Charlie Neal Homes complex located off Boone Drive.
