The Atlanta Braves begin the 2024 Major League Baseball regular season where the 2023 campaign ended – at National League East Division rival Philadelphia.

Atlanta won its sixth consecutive NL East Division title a year ago with a record of 104-58. Injuries to their starting pitchers and a suddenly cold-hitting lineup was not a good formula for the Braves heading into the playoffs. The Philadelphia Phillies eliminated the Braves, 3-1, in a four-game series to end the year.

The Braves and Phillies had to move opening day back a day due to inclement weather on Thursday. In the first two games, the Braves have pounded the Phils with 9-3 and 12-4 wins. Sunday’s game will be on Bally Sports at 1:35 p.m. After the set in Philadelphia, the Braves travel to Chicago for a three-game series against the White Sox. Atlanta will host its home-opener on Friday, April 5 versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Two other Atlanta pro teams are in action this week as well. The Hawks (34-40) ended a five-game NBA homestand on Saturday with a 122-113 loss to Milwaukee, snapping a four-game win streak. The Hawks return to action on Monday at Chicago and will be televised on Bally.

And United played short-handed last Saturday at Toronto and fell, 2-0. United is now 2-2 in MLS play and hosts the Chicago Fire on Easter Sunday. The match will be televised by FOX beginning at 3:30 p.m.

Below, readers will find the upcoming schedules, results and TV Networks for the trio plus what’s upcoming from NASCAR and the PGA Tour.

Also included are the men’s basketball schedules for Georgia, Georgia Tech and Auburn. Only Georgia is still playing after going on the road and defeating Wake Forest, 72-66, and Ohio State, 78-76, in the NIT earlier this week. The Bulldogs travel to Indianapolis for the NIT Semifinals and face Seton Hall on Tuesday for a 9:30 p.m. tipoff on ESPN2.
