Below is the 5 W’s on this year’s Abby’s Angels Foundation 5K Rainbow Run and Family Fun Day on April 20 with Natalie Bacho.

The Who: Abby’s Angels Foundation

The What: 5K Rainbow Run/Family Fun Day & Online Auction

A day celebrating the life and legacy of Abby Bacho. A 5K non-timed Color run/walk and the focus is to bring people together to laugh, make special memories and celebrate life while remembering Abby. This is our only fundraising event each year. It’s held in April which is organ donation awareness month and distracted driving awareness month, twoo causes very important to the work of Abby’s Angels Foundation. Online auction coincides with this event and bidding is open April 17th and will end April 20th at 5 p.m.

The Where: Coweta County Fairgrounds

• Starting at 8:45, the morning will begin with a prayer, welcome and energetic warm up. 9 a.m. is the start for the Rainbow Run. Free coffee is provided by Community Coffee in the morning

• Family Fun Day immediately follows the completion of the Rainbow Run – and is FREE. Registration is only required for participation in the Rainbow Run.

• Magician Ken Scott performs at the main stage at 10 a.m.

• Carnival games and activates for all ages

• Face painting

• Delicious Food Trucks

• Some auction items will be on display

• Music/DJ

The When: See above for schedule

The Why: This special day is Abby’s Angels Foundatin’s only fundraising event of the year. 100% of the proceeds support the foundation’s outreach programs which are:

Abby’s Closets – welcoming, inspirational and warm spaces in 55 schools including Angels House and the Boys and Girls Club. These spaces provide any school supply a students could need or want from Kindergarten-12th grade. They also provide emotional support for students as well to feel safe and supported.

TVOC (Teen Vehicle Operations Course) – monthly safe driving skills class taught by retired police academy instructors. AAF funds 1/2 of the cost for each student and a parent/guardian. This class teaches accident avoidance skills and is proven to save lives. www.tvoc.ws

College Scholarships – 6 $1000 college scholarships are offered and awarded annually to graduating seniors who have completed the TVOC class.

Kate’s Club — AAF 100% funds this program/partnership in Coweta County providing free grief services to children/teens in our community. www.katesclub.org

We continue to share education and awareness about the importance of organ donation as a life-saving and selfless gift.
