The Bookmark: Lots of reads, programs offered by Coweta Public Library System

By JIMMY BASS, Special to The Paper
The library is full of righteous reads and pleasing programs; please allow me to share some with you:
The Wolves of Winter – Dan Jones brings back the motley crew of six ruffian soldiers fighting their way through the Hundred Years War in this epic sequel to Essex Dogs. Lee Child says the series is “superb historical fiction,” and I agree heartily.
The Tower: A nice reimagining of Mary, Queen of Scots’s darkest hour, is offered in this strong debut about an equally strong woman in history. The Irish Times calls it a “gripping read.”
Lost Man’s Lane: This outstanding coming-of-age horror will swallow you up completely until the final page is turned. Michael Connelly says of author Scott Carson, “one of the best of the best.”
Takeover: Hitler’s Final Rise to Power– Well if you think today’s political world is completely psycho (and it is), jump on the terror train that was Hitler’s ride to improbable power. There is a very good reason to study and remember history.
The Dredge – Brendan Flaherty’s debut novel is getting real heat from the publishing world and fellow authors. If you like intriguing characters, a deep storyline, and vivid imagery, take this one home with you.
The Hunter – I love Tana French. Whenever she has a new book out, I devour it in less than two days and this little beauty was no different. Read her today!
