The Joint: Milano’s Pizza & Italian Grill in Sharpsburg

By JOHN A. WINTERS, Publisher
Everyone has their “go-to” place to eat. It might be with linen tablecloths and waiters in ties, or where you throw peanuts on the floor and carve your initials in the wooden tables. Whatever and wherever, it’s your “joint.”
This month’s featured joint is …
Milano’s Pizza & Italian Grill
It turns out you really can come back home again, at least for this long-time loved Italian restaurant.
Milano’s Pizza and Italian Grill, which was in a couple of locations in Newnan before moving down to LaGrange, is back. And back to its original Sharpsburg location.
It is a great collection of Italian food, with some Greek specialities thrown in. Pizzas, calezones, great salads, or try a couple of appetizers as the main course – I am talking Calamari and the Greek Combo Platter for my next visit.
Some great sandwiches, like the Italian Steak Sandwich, which should not be confused with a cheesesteak. Meatballs, Souvlaki chicken … so many choices. And dinner has all the classic Greek and Italian dishes you always want.
And honestly, one of the best bargains in terms of price and quality and quantity of food we’ve had.
Fellow foodie and frequent joint tester, Peyton Shelnutt, said “Milano’s has been around forever, and for good reason — the food is always delicious, comforting, and feels like home. It’s hands-down my favorite spot for amazing Italian in town, so glad to have them back in Newnan.”
Peyton, who also runs The Newnan Centre, is a Newnan native and should know.
So glad this place is back!
