Below are some of the events in-and-around Coweta County this Easter weekend (Friday-Sunday, April 18-20).

FRIDAY, APRIL 18

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME
10-11 am, Newnan Carnegie Library, 1 LaGrange Street, Newnan • 770-683-1347
Join everyone at the Carnegie Library for story time! Each session, participants will explore a new theme through books, songs, and body movement. Activities will be followed by a themed craft or open play. This program is recommended for children ages 3-6, but siblings are welcome. No registration required.

PEACHTREE CITY NIGHT MARKET
5-10 pm, Drake Field, 155 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City
Night Market is a free, family-friendly event series in Peachtree City, GA, featuring live music, local food trucks, craft beverages, and artisan vendors in a vibrant outdoor setting. Live music from the Southside Band (5:30-6:45 pm) and the Relic Souls (7:15-10 pm). Nearly 40 vendors, 8 food trucks and another 11 dessert/snack vendors will be there.

HEARD COUNTY RODEO
6 pm, Heard County Covered Arena, 12080 Highway 100, Franklin
This two-night event will have Bull Riding, Team Roping, Calf Roping, Barrel Racing, Steer Wrestling and Bareback Bronc Riding. Gates open at 6, Live Music from 6-7:30 pm, and Rodeo begins at 8. Tickets are $20 for Adults ages 12 and over, $10 for ages 4-11, and kids 3 and under are free.

THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG
7 pm, The Legacy Theatre, 1175 Senoia Road, Suite C, Tyrone • 404-895-1473
From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. This 1920s whodunit has everything you never wanted in a show—an unconscious leading lady, a corpse that can’t play dead, and actors who trip over everything (including their lines). Tickets are $40, Seniors $35 and Children 12-and-under $20. Three Jewish widows meet once a month for tea before going to visit their husbands’ graves. Ida is sweet tempered and ready to begin a new life; Lucille is a feisty embodiment of the girl who just wants to have fun; and Doris is priggish and judgmental, particularly when Sam the butcher enters the scene. He meets the widows while visiting his wife’s grave. Doris and Lucille squash the budding romance between Sam and Ida. SATURDAY, APRIL 19

COWETA GRAND PRIX
8 am-2 pm, Downtown Newnan
The thrill of racing returns to downtown Newnan as the third annual Coweta Grand Prix takes place. The event is presented by Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corporation of America and benefits the Coweta Community Foundation. It’s racing from 8 years old and up. The Pee Wee and Youth Races start at 11 am; judging begins at Noon for Adult Cars; Pee Wee and Youth Awards at 12:15 pm; the Adult Race starts at 12:45 pm; Closing Remarks and Raffle Draw is at 1:15 pm; and Awards for Adult Division is at 1:30 pm.

SENOIA FARMER’S MARKET
8:30 am – 1 pm, 40 Travis Street, Senoia
Locally-sourced Farmer’s Market, every Saturday. Fresh produce, baked goods, local artisans and much more.

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 am- 1 pm, Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

EASTER EGGSTRVAGANZA

Hop on over to the 4th Annual Eggstravaganza at Westhill Senior Living! Get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny along with our Egg Hunt!! Egg Hunt will start promptly at 10 am. There will be two egg hunts for different age groups (5-and-under and 6-and-up).

LICHEN AND FUNGI, OH MY!
