• Saturday, December 13 – Sunny, with a high near 61. Overnight, mostly cloudy, with a low around 37. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

• Sunday, December 14 – A 20 percent chance of showers before 1 pm. Sunny, with a high near 44. Overnight, clear, with a low around 19.

COOKIES WITH SANTA

SWEETLAND ON ICE

Sweetland Amphitheatre has a covered 5,500 square foot open-air ice-skating rink provided and operated by the Sweetland team. Bring your family and friends to enjoy the festive atmosphere, skating for all ages, a spectator section with heaters to enjoy the ice-skating action, and affordable concessions. FANTASY IN LIGHTS

AUDIOBOOK WALKING CLUB

Come join the folks at Morally Gray Bookstore for their monthly audiobook walk. Participants will meet at the bookstore and begin/end the walk there. Bring your headphones, enjoy your audiobook and walk with fellow book lovers.

CHRISTMAS AT MADRAS
10-11:30 am, Madras Park Community Center, 2355 Hwy. 29 North, Newnan
It’s the 5th Annual Christmas at Madras sponsored by the Coweta County Parks and Recreation Department with enchanting experiences offered for ages 10-and-under such as heartwarming photos with Santa, goody bags with fun crafts and games to participate in, a doughnut breakfast and refreshments. The Grantville Public Librarians will read a Christmas story to close out the event, plus the kids will have an opportunity to write a letter to Santa and receive one back before Christmas Day.

PHOTOS WITH SANTA
11 am-1 pm, City of Hope, 600 Celebrate Life Parkway, Newnan
Join us for a festive and family-friendly holiday celebration! City of Hope Atlanta is hosting Pictures with Santa, a drop-in style event open to patients, employees, and our local community. No registration needed — simply stop by! Meet and take a photo with Santa, enjoy cookies and light refreshments, and kids can participate in a fun holiday craft activity.

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS AT THE BEND

Want to make some super cute Christmas decorations? Let’s get crafty and whip up some adorable red and white beaded candy came and icicle ornaments while enjoying some holiday music. PAWS & CLAUS

It’s the 4th Annual Paws & Claws Pet Picture Christmas event sponsored by the Coweta County Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with and benefitting the Coweta County Animal Services. Bring your furry friends to create unforgettable memories as you pose with jolly old Saint Nick in front of the beautifully decorated tree. At least 1 donation is required to take pictures – towels, canned dog food (ground), canned cat food, dog leashes, laundry soap, stainless steel food and water bowls, and bleach.

CITY OF NEWNAN ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARADE
6 pm, Downtown Newnan
The City of Newnan will host its annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 13 at 6 p.m. in downtown Newnan. The parade will start at the intersection Cavender Street and Jackson Street at the University of West Georgia campus. It will run south down Jackson Street into downtown Newnan and end at Salbide Avenue. Through traffic along the parade route will be closed from 4 to 10 p.m. Also according to the City of Newnan website,  Jackson Street/LaGrange Street from Cavender Street to Temple Avenue and Wesley Street to Gilbert Street will be barricaded from Noon to 10 p.m. for viewing access to the parade. Street parking will be blocked off during that time. The theme of the parade this year is “A Nutcracker Christmas.”
