TODDLER STORYTIME

Join the folks at Carnegie Library for story time! Each session, we will explore a new theme through books, songs, and body movement. Activities will be followed by a themed craft or open play. This program is recommended for children ages 1-3, but siblings are welcome. No registration required!

It’s 1950, and new colors are being added to the Red Scare. Two U.S. State Department employees, Bob and Norma, have been tasked with identifying sexual deviants within their ranks. There’s just one problem: Both Bob and Norma are gay and have married each other’s partners as a carefully constructed cover. Inspired by the true story of the earliest stirrings of the American gay rights movement, madcap classic sitcom-style laughs give way to provocative drama as two “All-American” couples are forced to stare down the closet door. PAINT RECYCLING EVENT

Keep Newnan Beautiful will host the first of two Paint Recycling Events in 2025 on Saturday. Fees will apply for the various types of paint. Paint Recycling is for wet paint only. Costs are $2 each for spray paint cans, $4 per gallon of latex paint, $5 per gallon of oil paint and $4 per gallon of deck/wood stain. No solvents, paint thinner/remover, epoxy, adhesives, laquers, gasoline, mercury or lead paint will be accepted. Fee discounts are available for City of Newnan residents. Limits may apply in some categories.

The plan for today’s Volunteer Day is to begin rebuilding the ADA accessible platform in the West Platform Campground. Meet at the Visitor Center by 10 a.m. Bring cordless drills and extra batteries, and knee pads if you have them. Hosted by Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park.
THE WORLD OF AMPHIBIANS

The 3rd Annual Great American Rescue Bowl was formerly known as The Kitten Bowl. This special is a cat-and dog-filled football game which is a two-hour adoption event.

Super Museum Sunday is back! Organized and promoted by the Georgia Historical Society, NCHC is pleased to take part once again on yes, Super Bowl Sunday! Take a museum tour, look around on your own, check out the REALLY SUPER book by visiting author Kelly Young-Silverman. It’s called “Boiled Peanuts: A Georgia Food Tour” and it is ADORABLE. Plus, guess what?!?! They will be serving boiled peanuts in individual bags and Cokes at the museum. Eat ’em there or take them home to enjoy while watching the game later. Peanut craft for the kids. This is a FREE event although we welcome donations with cards or cash in the donations box.
SUPER BOWL LIX PREGAME

FOX will televise five-and-a-half hours of pregame coverage from three separate locations, including a set on Bourbon Street in New Orleans.
PUPPY BOWL 2025
2 p.m., Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, TBS, truTV
This is the 21st Puppy Bowl, making it the longest-running TV event which promotes pet adoption. Some 142 rescue dogs will participate on Teams Ruff and Fluff.

Lineup starts at 12:30 p.m. and judging begins at 1:30 p.m. Starting point of the Parade is at 55 Savannah Street. Parade route will go north on Greenville Street, turn left (west) onto East Washington Street, turn left (south) onto LaGrange Street and turn left (east) onto Salbide Avenue.

The FOX game coverage will have Kevin Burkhardt doing the play-by-play and Tom Brady providing color commentary. Sideline reporters are Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi. Mike Pereira will offer rules analysis. The halftime show will feature Kendrick Lamar, joined by SZA. Pregame entertainment will be by Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Lauren Daigle and Ledisi.
