ARTIST TALK: AIMEE MILLER

The Newnan Carnegie Library hosts Aimee Miller, an Atlanta-based painter and mixed media artist. She received her MFA in Painting from the University of Delaware and BA in Studio Art from Spelman College. She is the recipient of several awards and scholarships which include fellowships for residencies at the Hambidge Center in Rabun Gap, Georgia, Anderson Ranch Art Center in Snowmass Village, Colorado and Vermont Studio Center in Johnson, Vermont. The event is free but registration is required. PEACHTREE CITY NIGHT MARKET
5-10 pm, Drake Field, 155 Willowbend Road, Peachtree City
Night Market is a free, family-friendly event series in Peachtree City, GA, featuring live music, local food trucks, craft beverages, and artisan vendors in a vibrant outdoor setting. Live music from the McDaddy & Son (5:30-6:45 pm) and the Block Party Band (7:15-10 pm).

JAZZ IN THE PARK

Ever been creeped out by a “large mosquito” in your tent or while you are at the bath house? These harmless insects are actually called Crane Flies; no, they are don’t suck your blood. They are victims of mistaken identity. Let’s sort the good from the bad! Come join our naturalist to learn what other insects have also been victims of mistaken identity.

ARRL FIELD DAY
1 pm Saturday – 2 pm Sunday, Madras Community Center, 2355 Highway 29 North, Newnan
Ham radio operators from the Newnan Regional Amateur Radio Club (NRARC) in Newnan will be participating in a national amateur radio exercise from 1 p.m. on Saturday until 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28-29 at the Madras Community Center on Highway 29. The event is ARRL Field Day, an annual amateur radio activity organized since 1933 by ARRL, The National Association for Amateur Radio in the United States. In support of enhancing radio skills, there will be testing sessions for an Amateur Radio license on Saturday, June 28 from 2-4 p.m., and Sunday, June 29 from 2-3 p.m. Testing candidates should bring $14 cash for the exam fee. There will also be a “fox hunt” to hunt down a radio broadcasting a signal on Saturday, June 28 starting at 4 p.m. A license is not required to join the hunt, and all are invited.

NITWITS FREE IMPROV WORKSHOP
2-5 pm, Newnan Theatre Company, 24 1st Avenue, Newnan • 770-683-6282
Learn the basic skills of improv and how to translate them to a live performance, along with keys to navigating an interactive audience and the differences between an improv troupe, an improv game, and an improv show. Each lesson begins with warmups and social connections that will evolve the individual strengths and weaknesses of our students. All workshops will start at 2 p.m. and run until 5 p.m. The workshops will focus on Improv Goals and are designed to welcome beginners and refresh veterans. These workshops are put together with busy summers in mind and do not require participants to attend every week. All those who attend any workshop are welcome to perform in the N.I.T.W.I.T.S. performances on August 1 & 2! Standouts may be invited to become an official member of N.I.T.W.I.T.S. for the 2025-2026 Season. This workshop is open to anyone age 18 and older.
