June 30 – FRIDAY
‘Roots So Deep’ Screening and Talkback
5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at The Inn at Serenbe, 10950 Hutcheson Ferry Road, Chattahoochee Hills
Join filmmaker Peter Byck for a special screening of episode one of his documentary series. The film explores the challenges faced by farmers who are striving to adopt more sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices. After the screening, Peter will lead a thought-provoking talkback session where he’ll share insights about the making of the film and answer questions from the audience. This is a unique opportunity to learn about the important work being done to promote sustainable agriculture and to engage in a meaningful conversation with a respected filmmaker and expert on the subject. Don’t miss this enriching experience! Tickets are $25.
Red, White and Blue Friday / LaGrange
8 p.m. at Sweetland Amphitheatre, 110 Smith Street, LaGrange
Kick off the 4th of July weekend with the annual Red, White, and Blue Friday at Sweetland Amphitheatre!
Enjoy a performance by the LaGrange Community Band at 8 pm, followed by a showing of DC League of Super-Pets (Rated PG) at 9 pm. This event completely FREE and is picnic approved, so feel free to bring some snacks to enjoy!
July 1 – SATURDAY
Hike and Paddle at The Bend
8 a.m. at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan
Guests will meet at the Visitor Center to complete paperwork then we’ll start our 5.5-mile hike from the Day Use area up the easy to moderate Riverside Trail at 9 a.m. After arriving at the Back-country camping area we’ll take a short break for lunch and then begin a leisurely 3.5-mile float back down the river, ending up right where we started at the Day Use area. Guests can rent a kayak from the park or bring their own and we’ll haul it up to the Back-country area for you. The cost is just $30 per person (plus boat rental – $20+tax). Additionally, all participants are required to purchase a parking pass ($5) or possess a valid annual State Park pass (not a National Park pass) or Friends of Georgia State Parks pass. All participants should wear clothing suitable for hiking and that they don’t mind getting wet. Sunglasses with a strap and a wide brimmed hat are a good idea while on the river but not required. Additionally, everyone is required to wear a Personal Flotation Device (PFD) while on the river (PFD is provided with boat rental). Click on the Tickets LINK to sign up.

Every Wednesday and Saturday (thru mid-October) Local farmers offer homegrown fruits, vegetables, homemade food items, plants and more!
Senoia Farmers’ Market
8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 40 Travis Street, Senoia
It is a community-oriented marketplace that features a variety of local farmers, food producers, artisans, and craftsmen. You can find a wide selection of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, herbs, and flowers. There are also local food producers selling homemade baked goods, jams and jellies, honey, and other artisanal products. The market also features handmade crafts, such as pottery, jewelry, and textiles. Visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and other family-friendly activities. EVERY Saturday.
Peachtree City Market
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
This market brings approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats, honey, eggs, prepared foods and so much more. It’s the perfect place to find the consummate gift for the foodie in your life and visitors will also find live music going on.
Red, White, & Blueberry Day / Serenbe
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Serenbe Farmers Market, 9110 Selborne Lane, Chattahoochee Hills, GA
Join us at the Serenbe Farmer’s Market for a Blueberry Bake-Off, Blueberry Cocktails and Live Music! Get your blueberry on! Come spectate or compete and bring your own blueberry-forward culinary creation (or mixology creation!) to be voted on by a select panel of judges, and your friends and neighbors. Prizes awarded!
Market Day / Newnan
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Courthouse Square, Downtown Newnan
Hosted by Main Street Newnan on the first Saturday of every month. The Market features over 55 unique spaces, with a variety of one-of-a-kind gift items. Market Day favorites include: fresh locally grown produce, honey, jams & jellies, pottery, art, hand-woven baskets, leather products, etc.
Sweet Land of Liberty Parade / LaGrange
10 a.m. in downtown LaGrange
The 39th annual Sweet Land of Liberty Parade hosted by the Junior Service League of LaGrange will be in Downtown LaGrange. This year’s theme is “Surfin’ USA” led by Grand Marshall: LaGrange College Athletic Department. Parade route will be Bull Street to Sweetland Amphitheatre.
July 4th Star Spangled Beach Party / Callaway Gardens
Daily at Callaway Gardens, 17800 Hwy. 27, Pine Mountain GA
Celebrate summer days and starry nights with our weekend-long July 4th Star Spangled Beach Party! Enjoy four days of family adventures on the sunny shores of Robin Lake Beach with beach volleyball, putt putt, and water activities like stand-up paddleboarding. Play all day on floating obstacle course Aqua Island, where your family can race across twisting bridges, scale towering inflatable mountains, and slip down gigantic slides into the sparkling waters below. Annual Duckie Race
2 p.m. at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan
Join us for our annual duckie race! Purchase one (or more) duckies and watch as they race down the creek. The first rubber duckie to cross the finish line receives a prize! Each duckie is $1. Meet at the Visitor Center porch. $5 parking fee per vehicle ($3.75 military/veteran). Please call the visitor’s center at 770-254-7271 to register.
SummerFEST / Franklin
4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the historic downtown Square, Franklin GA
Featuring lots of wonderful food, arts and crafts, music by various bands, a performance by GA All Star Wrestling and Fireworks. The schedule includes The Expectations Band (4-5:30 p.m.), Jack Christopher (5:30-7 p.m.), GA All Star Wrestling (7-7:30 p.m.), Sweet Grass Sally Band (7:30-9:30 p.m.), and DJ Rick Gore by the River (8 -9:30 p.m.). Hosted by the Heard County Chamber of Commerce and the event sponsor is Agrimerica of Carrollton. The evening will conclude with a professional fireworks display over the Chattahoochee River at 9:15 p.m.
Independence Day Celebration / Trilith
4 p.m. at the Town of Trilith, 305 Trilith Parkway, Fayetteville
Come join us for good old-fashioned patriotic fun to celebrate Independence Day Celebration at the Town at Trilith. Dress in red, white, and blue and plan to spend the afternoon from 4 to 7 p.m. enjoying activities for all ages including:
• A spectacular magic show by the Magical Mr. McClure at Central Plaza 5 to 6 p.m.
• Superheroes – including Captain America, Wonder Woman, Iron Patriot, and Superman – taking time out of their busy schedules to make memories and snap pictures with guests.
• Music from the impeccable DJ Wonder Bread well as balloon twisting and face painting from talented artists.
• For the most meticulous guests, an Independence Day Flag Hunt will provide great entertainment, with prizes for those who submit the correct number of flags.
• For the daring, Black Bear Mobile Axe Throwing will be sure to keep throwers’ attention honed – an experience not easily forgotten.
To finish this day of family fun, the day will wrap up with a movie on the big screen in Central Plaza. The featured film, “Captain America: Civil War,” will start at 7 p.m. Guests planning to enjoy the movie should bring chairs or blankets. The sessions are weather dependent. Participants may park for free in the retail parking deck and travel lot on Trilith Parkway.
Jenna Kim Jones / Stand Up Comedy Show
7 p.m. at the Wadsworth Auditorium, 25 Jefferson Street, Newnan
Introducing Jenna Kim Jones – the comedian for the everyday woman. With three kids and a happy marriage, Jenna brings a fresh perspective to the world of comedy as she shares real-life humor that anyone can relate to. Her live shows leave women everywhere raving about how she finally speaks to them on their level. Jenna started performing stand-up during her time working at ‘The Daily Show with Jon Stewart’ and has since released 3 audio specials, all of which have featured on SiriusXM’s ‘Laugh USA’, and one video special for ‘Dry Bar Comedy’ which has received millions of views online. July 4 – TUESDAY
Fourth of July Parade / Newnan
9 a.m. at Jackson / LaGrange Street, downtown Newnan
Hosted by Main Street Newnan, the parade kicks from the Veteran’s Memorial Park (Temple Avenue) and proceeds south down Jackson / LaGrange Street. It will end just past Newnan City Hall.
Fourth of July Parade / Peachtree City
9 a.m. at Peachtree Parkway / McIntosh Trail, Peachtree City
Peachtree City’s 50th annual Fourth of July parade started in 1973 as the brainchild of Sallie Satterthwaite. It’s grown from a small gathering of participants to a yearly event that attracts more than 10,000 people. James “Jim” Rogers, a 94-year-old veteran of multiple foreign wars, will serve as grand marshal. Rogers will lead over 100 registered participants in the parade which steps off at 9 a.m., using the southbound lanes of Robinson Road and the northbound lanes of Peachtree Parkway to McIntosh Trail. It winds down Peachtree Parkway for 1.8 miles before turning left onto McIntosh Trail where it ends at the McIntosh Trail Recreation Complex. A panel of three judges award trophies to parade participants in several categories, including the Mayor’s Trophy, Most Creative, Most Patriotic, Grand Marshal Trophy, and the top three spots for golf cart entries. People should expect delays on Crosstown Drive, McIntosh Trail, Peachtree Parkway South and Robinson Road starting at 7:30 a.m. prior to the parade.

Food Truck Frenzy / Peachtree City
6 to 9 p.m. at The Avenue, 239 City Circle, Peachtree City
Who wants to cook out? After your 10k or parade and before your firework festivities, take a break to enjoy your Independence Day festivities with dinner, live music from The Southside Band and activities at The Avenue Peachtree City’s Food Truck Frenzy! At least a dozen Food Trucks plus the Avenue restaurant will be open to serve you.
Let Freedom Ring Celebration Fireworks Show / Newnan
5 p.m. at the Coweta County Fairgrounds, 275 Pine Road, Newnan
The Newnan Rotary Club hosts its yearly Fourth Fireworks Show as gates open at 5 p.m. This year, the event will take place at the Coweta County Fairgrounds instead of Newnan High’s Drake Field due to the ongoing construction on campus. The Fireworks Show will feature an assortment of food trucks along with live music by 6 Feet Back, a high-energy local band with members from Newnan, Palmetto and Peachtree City playing songs from the ‘70s and ‘80s. Parking arrangements will be handled by members of the White Oak Golden Kiwanis Club of Coweta County. Free celebration gear will be available until supplies run out. As always, the event is free and open to the public. Fireworks are expected to begin at nightfall. For real-time alerts regarding the 2023 Rotary Fireworks Extravaganza, please text Fireworks23 to 67283. Due to parking restrictions, attendees are encouraged to carpool and arrive early. Once parking is full, the gates to the fairgrounds will be closed until the fireworks are completed.
Fireworks Show / Peachtree City
9 p.m. (approximately) at Lake Peachtree, Peachtree City
The finale of the July 4th in PTC is the Fireworks Show over Lake Peachtree. Drake Field will be closed since that is the location of the fireworks lighting. Peachtree City officials say to park where it is safe and legal to do so since there is no designated area to congregate. The Fireworks Show is meant to be enjoyed from various locations around the city.
