Everybody loves a baby.

And that consensus was indeed confirmed when looking at the Most Viewed Stories on the Winters Media & Publishing digital platforms in 2024. The Coweta’s First Baby of 2024 born at Piedmont Newnan Hospital story was published on January 4 and eventually totaled 111,183 views on websites – wintersmedia.net and thecowetashopper.com – plus Winters Media Facebook, Instagram and X (Twitter) pages. It was the most viewed story and/or post of the year at Winters Media.

The baby – Lily Abigail Harmon – is the daughter of Grantville residents Blake and Cara Harmon. Lily Abigail measured in at 7 lbs., 3 oz., and 20 inches long, was born at 9:39 p.m. on January 1.

This lifted truck in downtown Newnan got over 100,000 Facebook views.

The runner-up story was a Facebook-only post titled “A typical day in downtown Newnan.” The post had a photo of a white modified and lifted pickup truck and garnered 102,372 views.

After the top 2 stories, there was a significant drop in total views with third place consisting of 48,655 looks for “Hunt for Lost Treasure of Coweta County” which published on August 22.

Stories on Coweta Schools announcing new administrative positions or academic calendars grabbed places No. 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. The Weekend Guide had a year-high performance the first weekend in May with its story landing in the No. 7 spot at 13,054 views.

Two sports stories came in at No. 10 (Coweta Sports Hall of Fame to induct 4) with 7,417 views and at No. 16 (Katie Mitchell named head coach at Wingate) with 2,125.
