Rock & Road Festival
8 a.m. to 9 p.m. in downtown Newnan
This all-day event is one for the ages with a huge lineup of activities taking place. Below is the schedule:
8 a.m. – Rockin’ in a Squirrel World, Mountain Bike Races, Brown’s Mill (Saturday and Sunday)
8 a.m.-2 p.m. – Tour of Coweta Century with 25/47/63/100 mile routes to benefit the Newnan Rotary Club
11a.m. -2 p.m. – SOAP Box Derby, open to all ages, Dual Heats & Slalom Course to benefit the Coweta Foundation
11a.m. -2 p.m. – Rock & Road Car Show presented by Driven Automotive at First United Methodist Church, Newnan
Noon-8 p.m. – Rock & Road Music Lineup: Doug Kees & Friends (Noon to 1 p.m.), Leonard Washington (2-4 p.m.), Cosmic Charlie (5-8 p.m.) on Newnan South Court Square.
3-9 p.m. – Rock & Road Criterium, Women’s & Men’s Main Event, presented by 75 Jackson
6-7 p.m. – Rockstar Middle School Sprint presented by Bike Coweta at the Newnan Carnegie Library
With between 5,000-10,000 visitors expected in downtown Newnan and with the Race Course setup, significant road closures will begin at 6 a.m. on Saturday Festival including Jefferson Street, Wesley Street, Jackson Street, Salbide Avenue, and West Broad Street. Parking will be unavailable on these streets as of 6 a.m. Saturday. All side street parking will remain available with the exception of West Broad between the Carnegie and Piedmont Fitness and on North and South Court Square. Parking and streets noted will be closed until 10 p.m. Saturday.

Coweta Sports Hall of Fame 20th Annual Banquet
Dinner at 6:30 p.m.; Ceremony at 7 p.m. at the Coweta County Fairgrounds and Conference Center, 275 Pine Road, Newnan.
The 2023 Coweta Sports Hall of Fame Class will include Matt Donahue, Vernon Strickland and James Warner. Each were standout athletes at Newnan High School.
