From Staff Reports

Another fall weekend has arrived and with it, many neat, family-oriented and fun events are set to take place in-and-around Coweta County.

It starts early today as the Gypsy Junkers Pasture Sale begins its two-day run off Jim Starr Road. There’s also Fall Crafts at Chattahoochee Bend State Park, Exercise is Medicine at Newnan Carnegie Library and the huge Tent Cent Tailgate at Newnan High, part of its 1,000th game celebration at Drake Stadium tonight as the Cougars celebrate Homecoming against Wheeler. East Coweta High is also hosting Homecoming tonight and Northgate, Trinity Christian and Central Christian hit the gridiron as well.

On Saturday, the Coweta Master Gardeners host their annual Fall Plant Sale at the Extension Greenhouse off Pine Road in Newnan, Southern Charm hosts its Market in the Meadow with over 130 vendors in LaGrange, Coweta-Fayette EMC holds its annual Member Appreciation Day, there’s READ by CAREing Paws at the Peachtree City Library and later that evening, PTC Market Night will be held at Drake Field. Chattahoochee Bend State Park hosts a Hike and Paddle event, plus Scavenger Hunt, and the Farmer’s Markets begin winding down both in Newnan and LaGrange.

Several theatrical productions hit the stage over the weekend – “The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) Events” at The Legacy Theatre in Tyrone; “The Sleepy Hollow Experience” at Serenbe Playhouse in Chattahoochee Hills; and “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest” at Southside Theatre Guild in Fairburn.

For live music, our own Kris Youmans provides who’s performing at what local venue.

Weather-wise, the temperatures will be perfect with a high today in the low 80s, and in the upper 70s on Saturday and Sunday. Rain chances (20 percent) do move in Saturday night and increase to 40 percent on Sunday.

Below is the day-to-day listing of events in the area. To have your event published, please email [email protected].
