Kids Learning To Ride Thanks To Yamaha

From Special Reports
Three Coweta County elementary schools will be zooming around their gyms thanks to a major donation from Yamaha Motor Corp. USA.
All Kids Bike, a national nonprofit teaching kindergarten students how to ride bikes in PE
class, is activating three All Kids Bike Learn-To-Ride Kindergarten PE Programs in the county. Funding comes from a $100,000 donation from Yamaha.
Yamaha representatives assembled the bikes at the Yamaha Motor Manufacturing in Newnan on Monday, Nov.6th. On Wednesday, Nov. 8th, a “reveal ceremony” was held at White Oak Elementary. The other two schools are Moreland and Welch elementary.
The ceremony showed off 24 balance-to-pedal conversion bikes and include a first-ride opportunity for
the excited kindergarteners. White Oak Elementary staff along with District and Yamaha
representatives delivered a brief presentation prior to the bike unveiling and first-ride for the children.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, riding a bike is considered a developmental
milestone for a child. The All Kids Bike Learn-to-Ride Kindergarten PE Program helps students develop
physically and mentally, gives them greater confidence, reduces stress, and provides better focus in the
classroom, and is in over 1,000 schools nationwide.
