Wednesday: Coweta records 11 new cases of COVID-19

The 3 p.m. Daily Status Report of the COVID-19 pandemic has been issued by the Georgia Department of Public Health for Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Coweta County confirmed 11 new cases of COVID-19 with no deaths or hospitalizations reported on Wednesday. So far in September, Coweta has had 108 cases (12.0 per day), 7 deaths, 3 hospitalizations. The 12.0 case rate per day is much lower than the 30.7 per day during the month of August.

Wednesday’s cases move the Coweta cumulative total to 2357, up from Tuesday’s sum of 2246. Other cumulative totals to date include 33 deaths and 111 hospitalizations.

Single-day highs now for Coweta since the pandemic began in March follow: cases (66 on Aug. 26); deaths (4 on Aug. 13); and hospitalizations (6 on May 12).

Today across the state, Georgia confirmed 1937 cases, an increase of about 400 from Tuesday. Other numbers included 58 deaths, 256 hospitalizations (an increase of over 200 from yesterday) and 38 ICU admits. It’s the 25th consecutive day below 3,000 cases and the 4th straight day below 2,000 cases (the first time since June 24-27).

Presently, there are 1485 people hospitalized in Georgia with COVID-19, down 127 from Tuesday.

Overall, Georgia now stands at 287,287 cases, 6128 deaths, 25,845 hospitalizations and 4736 ICU admits.
