Red Bull Boarding Pass Skateboard Event returns to Newnan on March 16

Red Bull Boarding Pass is a skateboarding competition unlike any other – giving skate shop teams the opportunity to compete for a chance to earn a ticket to compete in Red Bull Terminal Takeover, a skate contest in New Orleans’ abandoned airport terminal this April.

The five-stop qualifying event series is happening in cities across the US and internationally in Japan. One of those stops will once again feature the best skaters throughout Atlanta and the entire southeast, as Red Bull Boarding Pass returns to Newnan Skatepark / C.J. Smith Park at 92 Farmer Street on Saturday, March 16th.

From the mind of Red Bull Athlete Jake Wooten and organized by The Boardr, the event gives skate shop teams the chance to represent their city at the 4th annual Red Bull Terminal Takeover, a competition that challenges skate shop teams to film their best tricks at an abandoned terminal at Louis Armstrong Airport. Video submissions will then go up for a vote to determine the winner.

Last year, the crew from Westside Skateshop in Tarpon Springs, Fla. were victorious in Newnan’s inaugural Red Bull Boarding Pass, punching their tickets to head to New Orleans. They plan to be return to defend their bragging rights.

Jake will be there too and is excited to share the chance to participate in something as special as Red Bull Terminal Takeover.

“For me, professional skaters get cool opportunities and chances to skate in unique locations all the time,” said Wooten. “Being able to share this moment with local skaters and skate shops that may never get a chance to skate inside an airport terminal is an incredible feeling.”

Wooten will be joined by fellow Red Bull skateboarder Alex Sorgente on-site at Newnan.

Expect the term ‘Now Boarding’ to take on new meaning as shop teams from around the world battle it out for a once in a lifetime opportunity to skate an airport and live out every skater’s fantasy session.
