From Staff Reports

The October issue of The Paper is now available for our readers online in a digital replica format.

The front page features a story on the 2024 Coweta Fest, an annual fundraiser hosted by Coweta Community Foundation. This year, A1A – the original Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band – will headline the event at Line Creek Brewing The Reserve in Newnan.  Readers will also see spotlight ads on Progressive Heating, Air and Plumbing and some of their Franken Breezy Specials on HVAC systems and plumbing and on Jess Barron of Lindsey’s Inc. Realtors.

Below are the highlights of what readers will find in this month’s 32-page issue.

• October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and in the Notes from Perry Street column, our Corby Winters shares her experiences of family and friends that have battled the disease.

• Columnist Jonathan W. Hickman offers up his Film Fix reviews of what is on the big-screen and streaming in October.

• A neat story on Yamaha’s Soapbox Journey that was captured in an award-winning film.

• This month’s Interview is with the Coweta Community Foundation CEO Kristin Webb.

• Jess Barron of Lindsey’s Inc. Realtors writes that it is a good time to buy with interest rates going down.

• Coweta FORCE’s Annual Ride for Recovery raised over $20,000 for addiction recovery.

• The October Featured Joint is as “eclectic” as you can get. Check out our feature on 360 Taste.

• Newnan Carnegie Library Director Susan Crutchfield offers several excellent book choices for the fall in The Bookmark.

• The Piedmont Newnan Hospital focuses on Screening Mammograms as the key for early detection of Breast Cancer.

• The October Local & Live Music calendar from Kris Youmans continues to show a strong music trend here locally. Plus, Kris has a news brief on local musician/songwriter and producer Sara Greer.
