From NCCS Press Release

The Newnan Chapter of Continental Societies, Incorporated proudly presents the Magnolia “Dayla,” a signature fundraising event with a charming garden party atmosphere. This year’s event will spotlight the remarkable artwork of Ezra Thompson, a local artist whose textured, impasto-style paintings capture the beauty and nostalgia of historical agricultural scenes.

Featured Artist: Ezra Thompson

A self-taught artist from Hannibal, Mo., Ezra Thompson first discovered his love for painting in 1995 during a unique date night with his then-girlfriend (now wife), Pam. That evening ignited a passion for art that has since evolved into his signature folk impressionist style, characterized by heavily textured impasto techniques.

Thompson’s work, often depicting historical agricultural subjects, tells stories of a bygone era, reminding viewers of the resilience and beauty of rural life. His art has been showcased locally at Percolate Coffee Shop in SummerGrove and previously featured during the Newnan Art Walk at Gillyweed, just off the square in downtown Newnan.

“I find inspiration in the rich textures of the past,” says Thompson. “Even outdated objects and landscapes have a story to tell—one that deserves to be remembered and shared.”
