Below are some of the events in-and-around Coweta County this weekend (Friday-Sunday, April 11-13). The headliner is the 2025 Rock and Road Festival in downtown Newnan on Saturday.

Friday, April 11 – Mostly sunny with a high of 66 degrees (30% rain chance) and overnight low of 42 (30% rain chance).

FRIDAY, APRIL 11

DISTINQUISHED AUTHOR SERIES: PATTI CALLAHAN HENRY

The Newnan Carnegie Library welcomes bestselling author Patti Callahan Henry as part of the Edgar B. Hollis Distinguished Author Series. Henry will be speaking on her book – The Story She Left Behind a sweeping story of a legendary book, a lost mother and a daughter’s search for them both – inspired by a true literary mystery. READING WITH A RANGER: A NIGHT IN A BAT’S LIFE

Join the Naturalist at Chattahoochee Bend State Park in learning the 5 primary senses of a bat, followed by the reading of Stellaluna. Spots limited, call to reserve your spot. $5 per person and $5 for parking.

SOUTH AFRICAN WINE TASTINGS

The Classic Market features South African Wines for its April wine tasting series. Cost is $35 per person and includes 6 (2 ounce) pours of wines and charcuterie food pairings. Must RSVP and pay in advance. Other dates include April 12, April 19, April 23 and April 25.

From Mischief, Broadway masters of comedy, comes the smash hit farce. Welcome to opening night of the Cornley University Drama Society’s newest production, The Murder at Haversham Manor, where things are quickly going from bad to utterly disastrous. KIDS EGG HUNT EXTRAVAGANZA

Kids ages 1-5 only. Located on the helicopter pad for little ones to get the hunt on. Donations to the Naturalist Program accepted and appreciated. It’s free to participate and $5 for parking.

EASTER EGG TRAIL HUNT EXTRAVAGANZA
8 am-5 pm, Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan • 770-254-7271
All Day Easter Egg Trail Hunt! (Ages 6-15 years old). Come hunt for easter eggs along the trails! Find the RARE golden egg and win a special prize! Donations to Naturalist Program accepted and appreciated. Free to participate and $5 for parking.

SPRING PLANT SALE
8:30 am-Noon, Coweta County Fairgrounds Agricultural Building, 275 Pine Road, Newnan
Come and find this year’s garden gems at the Coweta County Master Gardener Extension Volunteer (MGEV) Spring Plant Sale. The spring sale features a wide variety of favorites for your yard and garden. Plants include annual flowers and edible favorites including tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, parsley, basil and lemongrass as well as perennials, shrubs and trees. Many plants attract pollinators, and some are native to our area. Bring a wagon and boxes to make shopping easier and to carry your treasures home. Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about planting and caring for your purchases.

SENOIA FARMER’S MARKET
8:30 am – 1 pm, 40 Travis Street, Senoia
Locally-sourced Farmer’s Market, every Saturday. Fresh produce, baked goods, local artisans and much more.

APRIL SECOND SATURDAY WORKDAY
9 am, Chattahoochee Bend State Park, 425 Bob White Way, Newnan
For the April SSW, Friends of Chattahoochee Bend State Park will be continuing the rebuild of the ramp for the ADA-Accessible camping platform. What should you bring? Cordless drills/drivers, hammers, pry bars, safety glasses, and water and snacks!

PEACHTREE CITY MARKET
9 am- 1 pm, Aberdeen Village Shopping Center, Aberdeen Parkway, Peachtree City
Approximately 60 vendors offering a variety of fresh produce, poultry, beef and pork, bread, sweet treats and more. Also live music.

ANNUAL EGG HUNT WITH THE EASTER BUNNY
10 am-Noon, McRitchie-Hollis Museum, 74 Jackson Street, Newnan • 770-251-0207
Bring the kids for an egg hunt and meet the Easter Bunny for photos! We have a few treats up our sleeves too! This is a free event. Bunny or Photo Session is $20 Donation per family suggested, not required. For more information, call 770-251-0207.

ROCK AND ROAD FESTIVAL 2025
11 am-9 pm, Courthouse Square, Downtown Newnan
For at least one weekend every year, Coweta County is the capital of cycling in Georgia. From mountain biking, century riding and criterium watching to BMX racing and music listening, you can get it all in one community. The Rock & Road Festival, hosted around the downtown Newnan square, is open to the public and features live music, car show, vendors and craft beverages. Grab the family and come out for a fun-filled, fast-paced and adrenaline pumping weekend! The event is free. Here’s the Saturday schedule in downtown Newnan.

Get ready for the ulti-mutt day out at Carrollton Pup Fest! We’re teaming up with the Carroll County Animal Shelter for a tail-waggin’ good time filled with cold beer, delicious food, awesome vendors (for both pups & people!), fun games, and plenty of space for your furry friends to roam. All dogs must be leashed and well-behaved. Dogs are not permitted inside the taproom due to our full kitchen, but there’s plenty of space to enjoy the event outdoors.
