Do you know Coweta county has 5 public libraries for your perusal? They have thousands of books and offer access to Galileo for researching the tough homework questions and Kanopy – allowing you to stream movies with your library card. And then, of course, you’ll say ‘the book was better.’

Neighboring Fayette county has 3 libraries, and are part of the Pines Library System with access to inventory from 300+ more libraries across the state. They have access to Galileo as well. There’s Libby – with online access to thousands of ebooks and audiobooks and lots and lots of magazines.

You can find a good book! And all the library branches offer all manner of book clubs. Here’s a small list. Check their websites for dates, times and more. cowetapubliclibrary.org and newnancarnegie.com.

At Newnan’s Central Library branch they host the Worst Book Ever – Haters Book Club, Page Turners Book Club, and a Silent Book Club; you can find a Chapter Chat Book Club at the Senoia Branch; and Books and Baking Book Club at Grantville Library.

The Newnan Carnegie has the popular monthly Literary Circle Book Club. Starting in October you can be a part of a Silent Book Club — a global community of readers with nearly 2,000 chapters in 60+ countries. There’s no assigned reading — it’s bring your own book!

Their chapter that serves Newnan and Coweta County meets in various locations across libraries, breweries, and coffee shops. Meetings at the Newnan Carnegie Library are the first Wednesdays of the month from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on the 2nd Floor of the building. There will always be time to socialize/discuss your latest reads and a dedicated reading hour where you choose what you would like to read at your leisure.

Read together and swap stories. All readers are welcome!
