Coweta Schools announce new administrative positions

The Coweta County Board of Education has approved several new administrative positions for the 2024-25 school year, including new principals and a new high school football head coach, following recent retirement announcements.
- Chad Kollert has been named as the new principal of East Coweta Middle School, to replace current principal Jeanette Hallam. Hallam has been named as the school system’s new Federal Programs Coordinator with the school system’s curriculum. Kollert is currently an assistant principal at East Coweta High School.
- Stephanie Easterwood has been named as the new principal of Arnall Middle School next year, to replace Patrick Sullivan as school principal upon his retirement later this year. Easterwood is currently an assistant principal at East Coweta High School.
- Kevin Whitley has been named the new head football coach of the Northgate High School Vikings, to replace long-time Valhalla head coach Mike McDonald upon his retirement later this year. Whitley comes from Georgia Southern University, where he has served as interim head coach and assistant head coach, as well as head coaching positions at Stockbridge and Creekside High Schools.
- Ahmand Tinker has been named as the school system’s new Director of Student Services, to replace long-time director and former high school principal John Boren, upon his retirement. Tinker is currently the principal of the Maggie Brown alternative school.
- Janice Smith has been named as the school system’s new Student Services Coordinator. Smith currently serves as the long-time principal of Welch Elementary School.
- Jewel Simmons has been named to serve as the school system’s Juvenile Court Liaison, to replace Mary Cousins upon her retirement later this year.
The Board of Education took action on the new positions at their February 13 regular meeting. Most new positions approved by the school board will take place in the new school year, during the summer of 2024.
