From Newnan Utilities Press Release
Through the Caring Customers program, Newnan Utilities and their customers are proud to help local nonprofits reach more people and meet real needs right here in Coweta County.
Month after month, these small gifts come together to make a meaningful difference, supporting art, wellness, and essential services that touch lives close to home.
The Caring Customers advisory board recently awarded grants to three local organizations:
Backstreet Community Arts
Project: Sustaining Community through Creativity
A $1,000 grant will help expand fiber arts, stained glass, and evening workshops, creating more space
for neighbors to connect and heal through art.
Frayed Edges Foundation
Project: Tools for Tough Times
A $3,746 grant will support bringing counseling and therapeutic resources into Coweta middle schools,
providing students with healthy coping skills to manage life’s challenges and build resilience.
Meals on Wheels of Coweta
Project: More Trays and Film = More Meals and Less Hunger
A $2,254 grant will fund one month of trays and sealing film, allowing more homebound seniors to
receive the meals they rely on each week.
“Being on the board for the Newnan Utilities Foundation’s Caring Customers program has been such a blessing,” said Sandee Crain. “I’ve truly enjoyed learning more about the projects our local nonprofits are working on. There are so many wonderful things happening in our beautiful town, and I feel blessed to help share the monetary gifts given by Newnan Utilities and their customers. It truly makes a difference in people’s lives.”
Since its start, Caring Customers has supported over 40 local nonprofits — all thanks to the generosity of Newnan Utilities customers who donate just $1 a month to help address real needs right here at home.
